Katrina artist Beverly Davis would like to make FREE prints of her painting available to everyone for only the cost of shipping, handling and postage.

ART as Social Commentary and Historical Record

BEVERLY KIMBLE DAVIS is a New Orleans Katrina artist who is on a mission to tell the many untold stories of what really happened during and after the flood. Beverly uses her canvas to graphically tell the stories of people and events you’ve never read about nor ever seen on television. Thus far, she has painted four large canvasses with the first entitled “Remember, the Forgotten Horrors after Katrina”. Ms. Davis’s greatest desire is for her paintings to speak for the dead, the displaced and the voiceless victims of the flood in New Orleans so that their stories are never forgotten.

Though it’s recognized as the greatest catastrophe in U.S. history, surpassing the bombings of Pearl Harbor and New York, the drowning of New Orleans remains grossly under-reported. Perhaps because of a collective sense of shame of the pathetic government response, or maybe the haunting memory of bloated bodies in murky water, the national news reporting community failed to rise to the challenge. On the 5th Anniversary of the flooding of New Orleans, the facts about much of what happened after the hurricane left the city dry, is still untold.

To inform the world of stories yet untold, Beverly would like to get a print of “Remember…” into every library, school, church and home so that the truth about New Orleans can finally be told. Money provided by "Kickstarter" will make it possible to provide everyone a “FREE” 16 x 20-inch print of her painting, “Remember..” for only the cost of shipping, handling & postage. Visit:
