Update #11: The Vivian Girls go to New York!
Update #10: VIVIAN GIRLS in the running for the O'Neill!
Dear Backers:
We are thrilled to share our news. We entered THE VIVIAN GIRLS in the 2011 O'Neill National Musical Theatre conference and received word that we are in the running. This is a huge honor as only a few new works are selected from a highly competitive pool. If we get in, we will workshop the musical with the best and brightest minds this summer.
And if we don't get in, we still have this great show of support that this is an intriguing and relevant work, which will help us get noticed and supported to the next phase.
I finished the second act and revised the first. Peter has new songs in his Uber talented brain. So cross your fingers that the road opens for us over the next two months.
Thanks!
Stacy, Peter and Heather.
Update #9: WOW!!
What a fantastic week you gave us, backers!!
We spent 7 days together, refining (aka rewriting) the script, digging in to the characters. learning music and testing some choreography. And on Tuesday, 100 people, backers included, gathered to see our progress.
In short, it was a thrill. We definitely gained the forward momentum we needed to take this to the next level. Which means I have to write the end of it and we have to network a bit more to find the place where we will fully develop the VIVIAN GIRLS.
Here is a little reprise for you who saw it on Tuesday (Peter's "dance mix" of Twister Twist) and a preview for those of you who have yet to see our work.
We are getting a video soon so hopefully I can share that with you too - or at least some of it.
A billion thanks to you, our backers, and our awesome cast and crew for making our week magnificent.
Oh - and the brilliant PETER ADAMS is on Whadya Know? tomorrow LIVE from Cincinnati as the musical guest. So check out your NPR station at 11 or thereabouts.

Update #8: Holy smokes!
We have just finished our fourth workshop day and the progress is astounding. We have gathered a remarkable cast and Peter's music is soaring with their vocals.
We have three more days before you can get a peek at our progress. I know we will spend the time well.
Thanks again to you for making this happen.
We are moved by your generosity every single day.
Hope to see you on Tuesday night!!
Stacy, Peter and Heather.
