Update #15: Rainy Day Update
Dear Mapping Home Friends...
Just sending a note out on a chilly day to say: MAPPING HOME is alive and kicking!
After some time off to concentrate on "Pressing Empty" we'll be back in the studio soon to continue the challenge of MAPPING HOME.
We've gotten some amazing interviews that will all be approached differently...
So if you haven't been interviewed yet, or if you've thought of a new person for us to interview... Send the information over by messaging me here, through Kickstarter or send an email to melissa.riker@gmail.com.
All the best and looking forward to more!
Melissa

Update #13: First Steps of the dances from interviews.....
Though we are still very much in the "collection" process for Mapping Home,
we are also in the studio working on the tidbits we've currently gotten our hands on!
This is a rough draft of a section based on an interviewee's thoughts of feeling most at Home on the very tip of an island, the rock that juts out into the water.
Hilary was inspired by the idea of the water, and Zoe was inspired by the thoughts of the rock's strong foundation.
Dancers in this segment are: Hilary Brown, Zoe Bowick, Madeline Hoak and Jun Lee.
Initial phrasework created by Hilary Brown and Zoe Bowick.
Choreography and Direction by Melissa Riker
Update #12: Interviews & Time to get moving
Update #11: Happy New Year dear Mapping Home friends!
Hi everyone!
HAPPY NEW YEAR...and a MERRY MAPPING HOME to you and your loved ones.
NYC has shoveled it's way out of the snow, most people know how they are getting home from delayed holiday travels and starting January 15, we will begin interviews!
If you haven't yet, please do fill out the form we sent you so we can find your interview suggestion in January and create choreography based on your words.....
More updates soon, I promise.... in the meantime...here are some great photos our friend Joe Silver took at the showing on Nov. 18th - video to come.... in the meantime dear Mappers.....
Have a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Melissa
