About this project
Here's the plan: We, Fuzz Phantoms, will release our debut album in segments - a song a week for 12 weeks - from August to November 2010 in digital format. A PDF comic page that helps the listener visualize the story will acompany each song. The core of this release plan will be based around our 'Phanclub'. Over the 3-month release period, members of our Phanclub will have access to all the exclusives on Fuzzphantoms.com.
These 'exclusives' include opportunities to:
- Stream live shows direct from the bands house
- Enter exclusive competitions
- Chat to the band directly via online chat room
- Receive rare merchandise
- Recieve FREE mp3's such as demos & covers
- Request setlists
- Hear new music before ANYONE
- Win one-off prizes
- & heaps more
Phanclub members will have access to the above exclusives and more, all whilst receiving a song from the album in their inbox each and every week for 3 months. By receiving each song at least 1 week before its available on iTunes etc, Phanclub members will have new Fuzz Phantoms music before anyone in the world.
The full album will be available in multiple digital AND physical formats after the 3-month release period concludes in November 2010. Depending on their subscription type, Phanclub members will automatically receive physical copies of the album (sent from the bands house) immediately after the 3 months.
We believe releasing our album this way will help Fuzz Phantoms build a connection with our fans that will last for years to come and will help us pioneer a new ‘music’ industry where artists and fans can interact directly without the need for big business or middlemen.
We have put our life savings into this, the only thing we need help with financially is getting the album recorded/mixed/mastered. That's where you come in; Fuzz Phantoms is a completely independent band, therefore we don’t have access to the large sums of money and resources that a record label offers. This is why we need to rely on forward-thinking individuals (like you) to help our vision become realized.
Our target amount reflects the minimum we’ll need to record and mix the album at our house and get it mastered - properly. Realistically we will need about $10,000 but $5,000 will be a huge step in the right direction. By pledging you will be purchasing Fuzz Phantoms music in whichever format you prefer and, perhaps most importantly, you will automatically become a member of our Phanclub!!!
