Kickstarter has been a great experiment for us the last several weeks as we explored how best to utilize social networking in order to promote an actual "existing business".  We learned a lot!  We learned that if you don't have someone committed full-time to creating awareness about your project, you're not going to successfully secure the much-needed backers (unfortunately, our marketing folks were knee-deep in our spring promotions for another project, which didn't leave them much time to concentrate on Kickstarter!).  So what about the Alertors?  WE HAVE GOOD NEWS:  although it would have been nice to raise all of the necessary capital to launch the product line here through Kickstarter, the Alertors are alive and well and we're preparing to introduce them a little bit later in 2012!  Still want to be get your Alertors?  Please feel free to contact Kari here at nth Solutions and she'll work out the details with you.  Thank you once again to all the folks who pledged and those who contacted us directly!

Why ALERTORS?

Have you ever had a leaking toilet that ran your water bill waaaaay up? We have. Have you ever panicked when your kids were outside playing and you heard thunder? How about accidentally leaving a door open and having a pet (or your toddlers) escape or tumble down the stairs? What about having to throw away a small fortune in food when your refrigerator failed? ALERTORS are all about inexpensively solving these and other common problems in your home and business.

What are ALERTORS?

ALERTORS all begin from the same basic building block that we have developed: a microcomputer platform with personality! Personality? Each ALERTOR has a different kind of sensor built-in to detect different types of problems. And they’re smart, real smart! They automatically “learn” what they need to know about their environments – no mind-numbing instructions to read or programming required! For instance, the StormAlertor has a detection sensor that is looking for the electrical “signature” of lightning, yet it is smart enough to ignore other types of nearby electrical “noise”, and will sound an alarm when a storm is coming your way. Every ALERTOR installs in seconds the same way: peel off the adhesive backing, press the ALERTOR onto whatever it is protecting or monitoring, and then pull the battery tab – that’s it! You’re done!

What We’ve Got So Far

We have fully developed the LeakAlertor for toilets and packaged it for retail, created a website, and have even finished a point-of-purchase display and made a video (that ships with the display) for the retail marketplace. Why We’re Here on Kickstarter & How You Can Help Us

We have three other ALERTORS pretty far along in development: the StormAlertor, which starts detecting lightning at a distance and will warn you if a dangerous storm is approaching (check out the video); the OpenDoorAlertor, which sounds an alarm if a door has been left open for more than 20 seconds (check out the video); and the FridgeAlertor, which warns you when the temperature inside your refrigerator is not within proper limits.

We have already begun to establish retail distribution with one of our other electronic products, but many of our retailers have told us they want to carry the entire ALERTOR product line, not just the LeakAlertor by itself. That’s why we need your help:
     - Your contributions will allow us to complete development of the new ALERTORS, get the molds fabricated, and put the products into production.
