About this project
As a 100% d.i.y. indie artist, I am still recovering from the initial investment of my debut release, 'The Dissonance' and am looking to my fans, friends and the kickstart community to help make this newest venture possible: A video for my second single, Futile & Fooled - Brett Gleason by brettgleason. After making the successful debut video 'I Am Not' on a paper thin budget (http://youtu.be/ezgxGMMD8HM), I know how to do this frugally and am looking to raise the modest sum of $500 for things like lighting, costume, space rental, and travel. I have a great director with his own camera (http://www.vimeo.com/user3900531) and am now reaching out for the most basic funding as well as artistic collaborators (visual artists who want to display their work in the video, dancers, and extras): 'Futile & Fooled' is to be an occasion, a combination of genres and a gathering of diverse artists. It's an intense song, dark and chaotic as well as upbeat and playful and the video is to represent these extremes. Aside from a live band performance in an abandoned factory on the Hudson River (www.hudsonvalleyruins.org), there will be a dramatic fight sequence between myself and fellow band mate Jana Fisher (www.janafisher.com) and you guessed it, a group dance sequence: This is where I'll need the help. I'm looking to rent a large, industrial space and fill it with art, bodies, music and dancing. After the aggressive drive of the verses we are going to do a celebratory dance at the upbeat, and playful choruses. Sounds fun right?
