About this project

September 27, 1977 - Everglades City, Florida. Joey Peacock, a 28 year-old resident slacker and Sam Johnson, an aspiring 19 year-old college student are drawn to a remote island deep in the Florida Everglades. Guided by a raggedy map drawn 20 years earlier by Sam’s deceased father, the two set out with one chance to fulfill their unique hidden agendas. Only one returned.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit our funding site. "Sleep" is an independent project being produced by Keary Cunningham Productions. We're working extremely hard to produce something that is not only high-quality but a great story that will scare your socks off.

The story was heavily influenced by many of my childhood adventures in exploring remote places in Maine, North Carolina and Florida. Both a suspense and thriller, the scares won't come from a random "BOO" but instead you will be drawn into a mysterious world that although frightening at times, will fascinate your senses.

"Sleep" is being shot at multiple locations in the Florida Everglades and Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The bulk of the shots will be night shots and we're up for the challenge. Several lighting experts from TYE Studios are on board to assist with making the cinematography Michael Mann quality.

During the shooting week (March 14th - March 19th), we'll be streaming the production live on Ustream.

Music for the film is being produced by the amazing Joel DaSilva. Joel is known throughout the Blues scene and locally in Fort Lauderdale as the lead vocalist/guitarist for the Hep Cat Boo Daddies. Joel's incredible slide-guitar abilities are sure to produce a powerful movie score.

Your generous funds will be used for those production costs that were not donated and that we couldn't do ourselves (like fly a plane). These include items such as expenses for the talent, wardrobe, props, equipment rental, website hosting, and food (since the cast and crew are volunteering their time and equipment, the least I can do is feed everyone). The remaining funds will be used in the production of the t-shirts and media as well as shipping costs.
