What was the eta of those books being sent out?
I will appreciate a response, I am excited to learn more about this type of organized gaming. As far as my previous comment, I feel that constructive feedback leads to growth, and I hope you use any feedback you receive to improve you future endeavors.
chazzeek, I'm sorry that we weren't as descriptive as could be on this product, and thanks for giving us a chance anyway. I will send you a message and try to answer those questions.
I'm putting some finishing touches on the PDF version, and it will be going out by October 17.
Brains! I'm hungry for the PDF any idea when you'll email it out?
I sent you a message a while ago, asking for some clarification. One of my questions was answered below. Would you mind discussing some of the other questions I asked, regarding game play basics. As someone with no experience with LARP, I would like to better know how I could go about leading this game. I am thinking that if I ran this game I would do so with the youth group at church.
I pledged for the PDF, because I wanted to learn more, but if I had a better understanding of this game I might have bought the book.
I guess at the very least I want to give you some feed back on your KickStarted project. I think that for a game that was marketed as being a introduction to LARP style gaming, you missed the mark on selling the product to someone with no experience.
Shelter in Place has been played in a backyard, conventions and one floor of an office building. The optimal place to run SiP is any location that has a clear and designated inside and outside. A house with a backyard would be great, as would be a park with a meeting area, or a convention with adjoining rooms, or where play is allowed in the hallways. This can be done by marking where the walls of the shelter are with tape or cones, but having an actual inside area increases the tension and adds to the realism of play.
What sort of area would you suggest we have to play this? Several options are listed, but what is "optimal"?
oooooh this is soooo cool!!! :D if JR is involved it's gonna be amazing
I am very curious about this game. I love the graphics from what I have seen so far.
Is there a record for how fast a kickstarter goal is reached? Because gosh darn if this isn't rising fast.
A.J. - Shelter in Place is live action, and uses a variety of characters and props to give you the feeling of being inside a zombie movie. Players can take on the roles of Humans or Zombies in a desperate conflict to survive. Characters are pre-generated to make game-play easy to jump into. There are a variety of Human characters from a Doctor, to an Engineer to a Horror Movie Buff - each with their own special talents. The Zombies only have one goal, to eat some brains. The Humans must use their wits to survive, making sacrifices in order to live through the night. The Zombies must use their brute, unrelenting strength and teamwork to overpower the humans and eat some delicious brains.
Shelter In Place is a game that’s about managing your own needs versus the needs of the community. In order to succeed, players must find a way to cooperate with each other, while the temptation to place individual needs higher than the needs of the group is high.
Zombies work best in a horde and humans can utilize their skills for defense. But there is always the temptation, in the heat of the moment, to place personal safety first. The question this game is asking is if you can think about your team before yourself, and can you trust your teammates to do the same?
Reading about Shelter In Place is making me hungry. Should I be worried about that?
Is there going to be something that gives a little more detail about how the game works?
