About this project
Meet Jamie. He’s your average London teenager. School; nagging parents; that girl down the road. He’s got everything. And he’s about to lose it all. It’s Christmas, 2012. The decorations are up, and there’s a chill in the air.

There's something wrong out in the streets. But Jamie ignores it. It’s the biggest night out of the year, the night that he’s going to get with Frankie, the night it’s all going to happen. Except his parents want him to stay home. And so Jamie has to get creative. He’ll get his night out. But, unfortunately for him, that night also happens to be the last date on the Mayan calendar. And that can mean only one thing: apocalypse.
- HELP US
INSTIGATE THE END OF THE WORLD -

The End is a short film, written and directed by Ted Marcus,
produced by Fred Rowson, shot by Oliver Kember, and edited by the Cannes Young Director Award nominated John X. Carey. Between us, we’ve assembled
a team of young, independent filmmaking talent from London and Los Angeles, to
create the ultimate short film, portraying the world’s greatest city, on screen and
under siege from a Hollywood-scale biblical disaster.
Starring is Gus Lewis, who’s previously been seen as the young Bruce Wayne in Batman Begins. Opposite him is Angelica Mandy, who’s also featured in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as Gabrielle Delacour. Also on board is Simon Pearsall (Doctor Who), along with parents, friends, and other talented filmmakers, all of whom have donated their time and skills to this project.

We’ll bombard you with links to our team’s previous work and credentials below but, for now, we’ll get straight to the pitch: we shot The End on a wing and a prayer, on a tiny budget, and now that we’ve come to the post-production phase, we need your help.
The End is for you – we want to entertain you. We want to
shock you. We want to show you hoards of demons pouring out of the clouds, and
we want to do it all in under ten minutes. Brevity, energy and watchability are
best parts of a good short film, and we intend to make ours widely available
once it’s finished.
We just need to get those
demons right. We’ve got a hit list of VFX houses and experts, to whom we want
to send our film, and now we require a small budget, raised through donation, so that we can afford to hire their talents to work on The End.

And that’s what it all comes down
to. We need your contributions – and even the smallest amounts will be a help –
in order to conjure the kind of CGI apocalypse that Michael Bay could only dream of.
We know you’re up to it. And, if you look over to the right, you’ll see that there are some pretty cool rewards involved, too.
With devilish best wishes,
The End team

I'm a 22 year old writer and filmmaker, based in London. For 3 days a week, I produce events for Rushes Soho Shorts (www.sohoshorts.com) including the excellent Orbital London challenge, of which I am the proud caretaker and primary cheerleader (www.orbitallondon.com).
During the rest of my week, I write screenplays and produce short films. You can watch one of them here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/filmnetwork/films/p00cw2j5 ...or you can find me on IMDb here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3757758/ I have not yet uploaded a profile picture, but if I do, it'll be one of me with a massive lobster dinner. Here's the IMDb page for the film that I most recently produced, 'Fortune's Smile', which stars Sadie Frost and Joel Fry: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1855213/
Alongside all of this, I somehow find time to write film reviews and general bits and pieces. A lot of these are for the radical and godless New Humanist magazine, and its website. They can be found here: http://newhumanist.org.uk/1987/fred-rowson
