What is my book about it?

My book is about 12 issues in America. I wrote the book in two voices, one is a humorous type character and the other is a more rational, non-biased friendly character. It is both funny and informative. I give explanations and solutions, but leave the decision making up to the readers.

What is the purpose?

My goal in writing this book is to inform people about issues important to all Americans. I cover things like the size of our military, tax system and health care using general terms and thinking through causes and possible solutions to make things better.

Why did I write the book?

I wrote this book because too many people in America simply don't care about the world around them. It is easy to tune out when our political parties attack each other instead of talking about solutions, but this is our country and we need to be a part of it. My hope is after reading my book, people will talk about what they read with their friends, family and society as a whole to spur new discussions about our country.

What will I use the money for?

I have finished writing and I'm ready to move on to producing my book. I will need to have the book professionally edited and formatted. I also need to have a cover designed as well as illustrations drawn for each chapter. Lastly, I need to design a website and pay for marketing.

Why do I need the money?

Have you ever read a book with a great message and terrible production? Even though the book is interesting people can't look past the typos, bad formatting or terrible pictures. This is why I want to do my book right, so people can focus on what I am saying instead of the distractions of a poorly produced book and this takes money.

I'm asking for the bare minimum to produce a quality product, but anything over and above that will help me reach more people, so donate today and get a copy of the book before everyone else.

How I give back...

I think it is important to give back, which is why I will be donating 10% of all profits from the sale of my book to charities focusing on improving literacy and education in America. I am a writer and teacher and I believe education is the key to a happy life, so I will be contributing to this cause.

I just learned about Kickstarter and I have already backed a few projects. I will continue to give back to the community which is helping me launch my book.
