Let's start from the beginning here. Composed in Memories is being put on through That Awkward Stage Theatre Project. That Awkward Stage is a completely youth run theatre company.  This means that every part of putting on a full scale production is orchestrated entirely by kids between the ages of 13 and 19--everything from directing, to producing, to design, to technical aspects, and, of course, to acting. And here with Composed in Memories, That Awkward Stage's third show, we have added two more things to the list: Writing and composing. 

Now to the topic at hand: Composed in Memories is a brand-spanking-new musical written by the lovely Cara Lisa Franz and composed by the disgustingly talented Vincent Lovetro--both of whom are currently high school students in Greenville, South Carolina (That Awkward Stage's center of operations).  Composed in Memories is a sweet story about finding yourself. In this show, Evan West loses his hero--and musical mentor--his father, to cancer. Evan's father had taught him to love music. Music is a part of Evan, it is what makes him feel alive. When his father dies, Evan stops making music. During high school Evan is really quite lost and unsure of who he is, or who he should be. It is up to his best friend, sweet Allie Hart, to lead him back to music, and in so doing, help him to rediscover himself. It is not an easy road and it is full of sadness, confusion, and struggle, but also humor and just enough romance, with a few shocking twists thrown into the mix. It is a bumpy ride that everyone should be able to relate to. 

We have had the incredible luck of procuring our dream facility, the Chapman Center  in Spartanburg, South Carolina. However, we are in need of funds in order to fill this beautiful stage with the kind of quality sets it deserves. Any donations you, dear friend, make will go to the construction and creation of sets, or, slightly less flashy, but equally important, to help cover the insurance on the beautiful theater.
