ABOUT THIS PROJECT

APPROXIMATELY 500,000 CHILDREN ARE CURRENTLY IN SOME FORM OF FOSTER CARE IN THE U.S.

Palms is a short film which tells the story of Solomon, an 11 year old boy who has lived his entire life in foster care.

The film follows his life as he searches for a forever family. The road is paved with, joy, distrust, happiness and disappointment, but in the end, an unexpected act places Solomon's heart in the palm of a hand.

"There was a very real and personal reason for writing this film" says writer/director Deep Williams. "Almost two years ago, my wife and I adopted a little boy who had been in foster care for most of his life. His story was heart breaking, but unlike most foster children, his was a happy ending. Having been blessed with a son through foster care, I wanted to tell a story to not only entertain but to also raise awareness of the stories of foster children in the United States.
 

Our hope with the film :

1. To inspire people to become involved in the lives of foster children.
2. To give a voice to thousands of children in foster care who have been abused and neglected.
3. To bring awareness to the many causes that help foster children.
4. To dis spell the myths of foster children and foster adoption.

We Need Your Help"The project is so important to me that I used my own funds to start pre-production. I’ve had many others help me along the way by donating their professional services, and others who have agreed to work for much less than their regular fee. I believe Palms is such a worthy cause, but we need additional funds to rent film equipment, feed the cast and crew, pay for a couple of locations and some post production."
