Just watched the Pink & Blue Quickie, very cool to watch your vision as it manifests. A big honor to be able to support your project, I cannot wait to see the film, and to share it with the little ones in my life. Much love, many blessings.

¿Por qué las niñas de rosado y los niños de azul? Esta pregunta no se trata del color, sino se trata de la libertad.

Why pink for girls and blue for boys? This is not a question about color, rather it is about freedom!

      Rock On, James!

Hi James! Wishing you the very best of luck with getting the funds together to make this a reality. Thank you for challenging the prolific gender stereo-typing our kids experience during their short and precious childhoods. Good luck. PS: thought you may be interested to know that I'm a fellow Pratt Illustration graduate (1999) with similar concerns & have now created http://tootsamacginty.com x

I feel very strongly about this project. It strikes such a chord within me. I was always the odd girl out growing up. I was interested in Dinosaurs when most girls were busy trying on their mother's make-up. I thought robots were cool when most girls were feinting over boy-bands. I got lots of Barbies which I barely played with because I wanted remote-control cars like my brother had. My family was horrified when I asked my uncle to buy me the Jurassic park T-Rex toy. My grandmother told me "it was not becoming of a young lady"...My grandfather called it "Mr. horrible"...My mom, thankfully, never judged me negatively.
I was always in competition with the boys in school as to who could draw better. Well, Jurassic Park was the movie that inspired me to pursue 3D animation. I became Jamaica's FIRST female 3D animator. I still have that T-Rex up to this day...[albeit his arms are missing :( ]..and now I can collect transformer action figures to my heart's delight...even though my family still thinks I'm odd.
Young girls and young boys need to know that they can grow up to become anything they want. There is nothing wrong with being a fashion designer if you are a guy...there is nothing wrong with being a mechanic if you are a girl. Too often the minds of children are limited by something as simple as the toys we give them to play with.
James, this project is dear to my heart. I wish you all the best! and will share this as much as I can. This NEEDS to be made!

I can't express vigorously enough my support for this project! As a woman, I feel it's very important for us to support this type of project. Traditional gender roles are some of the most damaging limitations we can place on children (and in particular girls). I believe this project has the ability to disseminate a very important message effectively thru James' incredible artistic talents. Please be sure to share this opportunity to support this project with your family and friends who share your desire to remove limitations on what our children are capable of becoming.

At the Walt Disney Feature Animation Studio, James contributed to the box-office triumphs of films like 'The Lion King', 'Mulan' and 'Tarzan'. At Sony Pictures Imageworks, he helped make the first 'Spider-Man' movie a record-breaking success.
