An Update and Many Thanks
I just want to take this time to thank each and every person who backed my project. I have safely returned from my time abroad in Manchester, England and am beyond grateful for all of the support I received. The experience was one I will not soon forget.
Armed with a tape recorder, camera, pen and paper, I not only sat through classes at the University of Manchester but interacted with many people while living in the city centre and traveling around Europe. My "Aspects of Contemporary America" course was a great source of inspiration as I was able to listen in and observe as students displayed and expressed their knowledge and opinions of popular American culture. The same was true of American history and race relations in my "[American] Southern Literature" course. I have already begun working on transforming notes, memories and quotes into pieces of poetry and fiction for my collection.
My time abroad was unlike anything I could have anticipated, and in accordance with such my collection is also evolving in ways I had not previously imagined! All of this, in great part, is thanks to each and every one of you.
Before leaving for England I sent out all of the backer awards. Some email addresses did not work and some people simply didn't respond to the information surveys. In any case, if you have not received your backer award (or if your material arrived damaged) please take the time to email me and let me know. I will be sure to send your award as soon as possible. It is important to me to be able to show my appreciation to you all both in text and materially. You can email me at wintalexismarie@gmail.com
Thank you all so much!
