While the grey door on North Boulevard may look like just another plain metal door, it's far from it. Even so, you might not know what goes on behind it or why it's important to our community. Behind that door is Hartley/Vey Theatres.

Hartley/Vey Theatres is a haven for emerging artists and art forms. A gathering place for true artistic expression, be it music, dance, theatre, spoken word, or visual and digital arts. And because the average ticket price is less than $10, it's accessible to Baton Rouge area residents of any age or income.

We'd like to keep it that way for years to come, but most of all we'd just like to keep it going. We need to spread the word to all of Baton Rouge, especially artists, about this wonderful space in order to continue fulfilling our mission to nurture the arts. For that, we need your help.

As a non-profit organization, all of Hartley/Vey's funding comes from donors, just like you. With your donation and support of Hartley/Vey, we'll be able to kick off our new Fall 2012 season with:

A new website, giving artists, patrons and participants alike the opportunity to view upcoming shows, purchase tickets online, and learn more about what we do
A new membership brochure to attract new members and donors
Fall season advertisements, both in print and electronically, to draw in new audiences from across the area
Fall season direct mail pieces, helping to keep our loyal band of followers informed

FAQ

On the "More Information" page it says you would like to bring in "more" artists. What are some of the past events that Hartley/Vey has produced?

We have been proud hosts to the Baton Rouge HOPS festival, Playmakers children's productions, Baton Rouge Music Studios, WYNK Songwriter series, Cangelosi Dance Project, PAE Conference, stand-up comedy shows, numerous local conferences and meetings, OLOL Halloween Ball, and the Jazz Listening Room with the Arts Council; visiting national acts like Jason Isbell & 400 Unit, The Baseball Project, Fishbone, Two Cow Garage, Black Joe Lewis, David Mayfield Parade, David St Romain, Robery Ellis, Jonny Corndawg, and Glossary; and more local acts like Royal Teeth and Twin Killers.
