TURKUAZ sets out to record an album, press it to CD, go on tour to support it, and produce new merchandise for the road!
As Turkuaz sets out to make our third studio album, we find ourselves busier than ever. With a continually growing touring schedule, and lots of new songs to record, we are extremely excited... but there are a few minor setbacks in our way:
Recording Funds:
Turkuaz is luckily blessed with affordable access to great recording, mixing and mastering. However, with the amount we need to do, it is still no small expense. We are aiming for the fences on this album and we don't wanna cut any corners!
New Trailer:
Touring is top priority for us these days. Nothing brings us more joy than hitting the road and coming to you! But to continue to do it effectively and affordably with such a large band, we need significantly more space for all our gear... which will give us room for all our members! Help us tour to support this upcoming album!
CD's / Merchandise
Once the album is done, pressing it on CD is the easiest way for us to sell it directly to our fans. Of course we provide digital downloads as well, but we still believe in physical copies!
Not only that, but we wanna offer way more to our fans on this tour than just CD's. It's rare, with such a huge band to support, that we're able to invest in fun new merchandise like clothing, posters, sunglasses, koozies, etc., and when we do, it's hard to get enough to last us for a good long time! We're looking to expand our merch selection to a sustainable place that will offer fun and diverse options to our fans, and give us a solid foundation of Turkuaz goodies to sell on the road!

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
Challenge #1 - Rehearsing and Recording:
When Turkuaz is not on the road traveling, everyone is generally pretty busy and it can be hard to get us all in the same place. Once we have everyone together, it can be difficult to keep things focused and get everything done in the time allotted during rehearsal and recording sessions. Plus, on a sonic level, this band is pretty hard to shrink down to a recording. Energy is generally overflowing live, and we've been known to play louder than a jet engine! Capturing the sound of the band can prove to be difficult, but we are up for the challenge once again of planning and executing the recording of this exciting new album!
Challenge #2 - Touring:
Being on the road with such a large band is also a significant challenge. Having a trailer to fit all of our equipment and luggage will significantly help us stay organized and comfortable on the road with so many people in one car. But of course the challenges will continue beyond that. Day to day challenges on the road include: staying on schedule and on time while traveling between shows, maintaining our vehicle, equipment and merchandise, keeping expenses low for food and lodging, and just getting some sleep occasionally!!! We are prepared and excited however to meet these challenges head on.

Lastly, our goals in this project are all things that we've done before on a smaller scale, so we're confident that we're ready for the challenge of making a full length album with our best new songs, and taking it on tour. We'll use the skills and awareness that we've acquired in the past, and apply it to make this time around bigger and better than ever before!
