About this project
At the Spine and The Beautiful Sunsets spent 700 hours and $10,000 recording and mixing 28 songs for two separate albums last year. The best we have to offer in folk, folk rock, punk rock and indie rock.
Now we are tying to fundraise and additional $5,000 to help us pay for the mastering, manufacturing and distribution of the albums.
We've created a variety of incentives which we hope you will find appealing: advance copies of both cd’s and both digital download cards, At the Spine “Dovetar” logo t-shirt, a free organic vegetarian or vegan meal cooked at your house or Mike’s house (Seattle area), hour long guitar/songwriting/singing lessons or academic tutoring sessions (generally K-12) from Mike (Seattle or Portland areas only) or Martin (Boston area only). You can even get your name in the credits as an Executive Producer!
The more money we have, the better we can do this expensive endeavor.
I’ve been at this for 15 years and I think this is the best work with the best musicians that I’ve ever recorded. A lot of folks put in a lot of long hard hours on these albums. We are excited to finish these projects and to get them out to the world!

Mike Spine is a Seattle born and based musician who has played hundreds of rock, punk and folk shows across the United States during the last 15 years. He is the owner/operator of Global Seepej Records, and the front man for the punk rock/indie rock band At the Spine, the folk/folk rock band The Beautiful Sunsets, and The My My Hey Heys (Neil Young Tribute).
When he has not been playing and working on music, he has also spent the last two decades working as an inner city teacher and as an activist for social, economic and environmental justice.
