ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This is not just any high school football championship documentary.  Take a journey with us as we document a record-breaking “Quest” for greatness as Lake Travis High School, in Central Texas near Austin, Texas, became the first Texas HS football team to win five consecutive state championships.  You’ll hear from the coaches and players who made it happen.  This amazing accomplishment wasn’t without trials and tribulations, but encompassed extraordinary hard work, persistence, determination, perseverance, and outstanding coaching, leadership, and teamwork.  Enjoy the thrill of victory, the excitement of the game, and the pageantry that high school football brings to each community.  This is more than a game, it’s about a program that builds character and builds memories that will last a lifetime.

These documentary film, copy-protected DVDs will only be offered during this Kickstarter project initiative and will not be sold in stores or other retail outlets in the future.  This will be the only opportunity that DVDs will be offered to pledge participants to chronicle this historic event.

ABOUT KICKSTARTER

Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world.  Every month tens of thousands of amazing people pledge millions of dollars to projects from the worlds of art, dance, design, fashion, film & video, music, technology, theater, and other creative fields.  Every Kickstarter project must be fully funded before its pledge time expires.  If the project creator doesn’t raise the funding goal, the project is not funded.  Donors pledge the amounts, but don’t actually pay until the goal is reached and the funding deadline has passed.

This documentary film is only going to be possible with the help of fans like you (high school football fans, football fans, independent film fans, and fans who love a positive, inspiring story).  This story is a story that needs to be told.  It’s a story about a small Texas community that got behind their local hometown heroes on their quest for glory.  Help us bring the project to prominence in the great state of Texas and throughout the USA. Who’s Behind This Project?

With 22 years of television broadcast experience, Jeff Power brings his invaluable knowledge, experience and expertise through his company, JeffPower.Tv Productions LLC, into a whole new realm of video production. As the co-host of Fox Football Friday Powered by Dave Campbell's Texas Football Magazine airing on Fox Sports Southwest, Jeff Power enjoys the spotlight and the features on various high school athletes across the state of Texas.  Jeff is also a play by play and color commentator for Fox Sports Southwest, Fox Sports Houston, Max Preps Sports and Legacy Sports Network and has broadcasted many professional, college, and high school sporting events including Football, Basketball, Baseball, Wrestling, Lacrosse, Soccer, Swimming/Diving, Track/Field and more.  In addition, Jeff also finds time to be a sports commentator for Houston Baptist University sporting events. Interviewing hundreds of professional, college, and high school athletes, Jeff has interviewed a number of Who’s Who professional athletes, a list of whom he has interviewed can be found on his website (http://www.thepowerproductions.net).

Why We Are Doing It?

After covering Lake Travis High School football over the last fourteen years and seeing the rise from one high school football state championship to eventually five consecutive high school football state championships, Jeff conferred with Lake Travis high school officials and discussed the opportunity to produce the documentary of this unprecedented rise by Lake Travis to being the first Texas high school football team to win five consecutive football state championships. This is a very unique story filled with determination, motivation, excitement, hard work, and pageantry – with all the elements of a sequence of events that lead up to the end result – the 1st Texas High School football team to win five consecutive state football championships. What Happens If the Money Is Not Raised in Time?

If the funding goal is not reached, the project creator gets nothing.  Donors pledge their preferred amounts, but don’t pay until the goal is actually reached and the funding deadline has passed. This ensures that the project will be adequately funded with at least the goal amount. The desired result can and will be accomplished by participant pledges that help reach the funding goal.  Every pledge helps. Once the goal is reached and the project is funded, we can finalize the project and then begin sending out pledge incentives to all pledge participants.

If I Donate, When Will I Receive my Pledge Incentive?

Pledge participants can expect to receive their pledge incentives within 90 to 120 days after the funding cycle ends and the project is declared funded by Kickstarter.

Can I Increase My Pledge Once It’s Been Made?

Yes, you can! Once you pledge to donate to our project campaign, you may want to increase your pledge amount or change your incentive reward to a different one. To accomplish this, go to the Kickstarter home page and sign in.  Go to our project campaign page and notice that the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click the blue button and you will be able to enter a new amount or choose a new incentive.

Can the Documentary Exceed the Goal?

Yes, Kickstarter will allow as much money as is pledged and designated to the project before the deadline. This will possibly allow a more widespread theater release, increased film festival participation, and other additional possibilities.

When We Reach Our Goal, What Will the Funds Be Used For?

Project funding will be used for the movie production budget, pledge incentives and mailing expenses, film festival expenses, and possible Academy Award nomination fees for the category of “Best Documentary Film”, promotional costs and miscellaneous expenses (if we raise enough funding to allow us this opportunity). 

When Is the Big “Movie Premiere” Night?

The Big “Movie Premiere” Night has not yet been scheduled due to continuing film collaboration and production.  We are anticipating that it will be scheduled for sometime during the late fall of 2012, several weeks before the theatrical release of the documentary film. We will be notifying all pledge participants weeks in advance of the premiere by several periodic emails.
