I have an opportunity to volunteer with the University of Miami/ project medishare in Port-Au-Prince, delivering much needed medical care to Haitians.
Your donation will help me purchase my plane ticket and will help the University of Miami fund the purchase of medical supplies and fresh drinking water. The University asks its volunteers to donate $300 towards their own living expenses for a week in Haiti. My own flight will cost me $400. Volunteer medical workers will be housed in tightly cramped tents along side military workers and other NGOs. The money you donate will be used specifically to help fly medical workers from Miami to Haiti, and to purchase medical supplies and fresh drinking water.

I am a Registered Nurse with a specialty in Trauma. I will use my skills, working with doctors and other medical professionals, to treat people affected by the earthquake in Haiti.
My flight is confirmed on March 8, 2010. I will work 12-hours a day for 7 days in a medic camp. Trained nurses are in high demand, and this is an opportunity for me to deliver hands-on relief where it is needed right now. Thank you so much for helping me to help people in Haiti!
This is a great description of what I'll be doing from another nurse who just returned:
