OSTRANDER is the #2 theatre critic at the most high-profile newspaper in the country. Misanthropic and remote, he is hated and feared in the theatre community for his scathing critiques. Only when he attends Anne Hathaway's (fictional) one woman show does he realize his true calling- to quit his job and write a screenplay for the starlet!
OSTRANDER is a dark comedy, similar in tone to a Coen brothers or Alexander Payne film. We are the team behind OSTRANDER and we'd like to introduce ourselves- Tim Chaffee, director/producer, Ian McWethy, writer/producer and Sue Kim, producer. We have already assembled an amazing crew, lead actor, and $6,000 of our $9,000 budget. We have shot the opening scene of the movie and hope that you see this scene as a ‘teaser trailer’ that can give you a better idea of our vision for the short.
No one is more careful about budgeting than us. We have set realistic funding goals and are committed to the responsible management of our finances. To complete the shooting, an additional $3000 is needed. (This does not include any of the festival application fees, or marketing costs once the film is completed.)
OSTRANDER's locations are all being donated and many people have already graciously donated their time and efforts to our project. However, the costs of renting equipment, providing food at the shoots, and transporting our materials, quickly adds up, and we need your help to reach our goal for the five day shoot.
$5 might seem like a drop in the bucket for a larger film, but since we're operating on such a shoestring- it can actually make a sizable impact on our goal! Your gift of $25 could provide transportation for our equipment to and from a shoot! Your gift of $100 could feed the entire cast and crew for a day!
