Hey Everyone,
We wanted to say that thanks to you all, everything is looking amazing and we're ready to go!! We'll be posting photos and sending out surveys to get addresses and phone numbers and preferences were applicable, this weekend. We were planning to open tomorrow, July 5th, but our Walk-In needs servicing and so we are pushing the opening date back to the 12th. We are really excited and anxious to get open but we want everything to be working in tip top shape from the get go. We are looking forward to fulfilling all your rewards and also to sharing with you images of the wonderful space that your help made possible. Thanks so much.
Sonya and Charlie
Thanks everyone for your generousity. There is still time for those last minute pledges. Although the baskets for the $100 pledge are all gone, there are plenty of the Art Nouveau prints and plenty of picnics left. We also have tons of great picnic locations around us to recommend. Also, to check out Gerry's baskets go to,
His baskets are amazing and he is always looking for new ideas and funky baskets to make.
Thanks again,
Charlie and Sonya
WOOT WOOT!! We made our goal early! Thank you everyone for your generosity and support. As Sonya and I sit back and relax a little we are starting to get excited about all the fun baking we are going to get to do for you all. Baskets full of goodies, picnics and tea parties and don’t forget about the cakes. Even though we have reached our goal, the timer is still running. By exceeding our goal we can purchase higher quality products as well as a few bonuses. Such things as lidded Pullman loaf pans, higher quality cake pans and cake decorating equipment. We also have TWO new rewards! We were planning them, before we reached our goal, to highlight a friend of ours who is a local artists (and baker!). Jaime Parent, in a fit of unbridled creativity, is producing an art nouveau style water color for us. There will be an 11x14 water color print signed by the artist, for a pledge of $100 and an 8x10 pen and ink print for a pledge of $50. Both options are perfect for people far away or anyone who can’t make it to the shop. Jaime Parent is an exceptional artist here is Ellsworth. She grew up in Maine and loves all things nature and art. She does everything from paintings like this to sculpting custom “My Little Ponies”. We love her beautiful work, and its playful feel. You can see some of her sculpted ponies here: http://www.zenbeast.deviantart.com
Please keep the word going about us and what we are doing.
The photo below is a draft of the design for the pencil and ink. The watercolor will not be inked.
Hi Everyone,
I'd like to take this time to send a huge thank you to everyone who has participated so far. Charlie and I appreciate it so much! We're really looking forward to opening and getting down to the business of baking. I've also found that I'm more excited than I even thought I'd be about sending out the rewards. Most specifically the thought of filling Gerry's baskets with yummy baked goods really appeals to my sense of aesthetics and the warm cozy idea in my mind of local foods and local crafts working together. With that in mind and the realization that I don't have near enough visuals in this project, I'm putting up pictures of some of Red Osiers baskets. These pictures weren't taken with the original intention of including in this kickstarter page, but I hope it helps to give people a general idea of the wide array of basket types that Gerry makes, and how talented he is.
Also I wanted to give a heads up that in a day or two we'll have a new reward. And Thanks again!
Sonya
