Thanks for checking out Carter Sampson's new project "Mockingbird Sing"!
First I want to say “Thanks” to you for taking the time to look at my new project. I am ready to hatch my fifth record out of my little nest. “Mockingbird Sing” will have 10-12 original songs and I’ll be working with some new and old friends who happen to be killer musicians and all around great people. With your help, I will be recording at East Hall Studios in Fayetteville, AR with Chris Moore behind the board. Chris and I have decided to return to the “good ol days” of recording. We are going to make this album by recording it to tape on a reel to reel analog recorder. What does this mean? Well, good analog recordings have an extra warmth and honesty to them. No drum machines or vocal tuners here!
Since moving to Fayetteville I have been playing with a new band and these talented Arkansans will be joining me as well as some old Okie pals. After recording and mixing, I will send the tracks to Garrett Haines at Treelady Studios in PA for mastering. Garrett is an ex-okie and I was thrilled with the work he did on “Good for the Meantime”. I will also be teaming up with a photographer and graphic designer to make me and the CD look totally great! Finally, the project will be sent to Oasis Manufacturing where they will magically turn a bunch of digital files into a beautiful eco-friendly CD using their Zero Carbon Footprint Digipak. Then the glorious day will come when FedEx delivers a pile of boxes full of CDs ready to be mailed to you! And that, my friends, is how a record is made!
