Yep, all your books went out this afternoon; obviously the time will vary - and I really didn't examine each readout as they crawled by - but a few of you will be getting your books by the end of the week, and most of the US deliveries should happen by around the Fourth of July, which although accidental is probably still a nice touch on my part.
Okay, the book doesn't have anything to do with Independence Day. I admit it. I'd have said pretty much the same if we were talking about Bastille Day, or Tu Bi Shevat, or practically any other accidental holiday. (I especially like that Japanese one when craftsmen make little offerings of incense and flowers to their tools.)
It's just been such a long road, for you as well as for me, that it's hard to grasp the fact that it is actually and definitively done. Thanks once again to everyone who made the limited edition book happen!
I hope you're all very happy with your books when you see 'em. I sort of miss having those big stacks of books all over the place but I think you're in a better position to give them full and interesting lives.
Until I set off the secret signal that makes them swarm, of course.
Anyway, things are cranking along at the Thrilling Tales of the Downright Unusual site. I hope - but I am not sure - that once the current Intermission feature is over I can roll right over into the new serial, which will be Slaves of the Switchboard of Terror. There's just a heck of a lot of work left to go there, though, so I'm not sure it'll start on time. I guess we'll all find out together.
So, now - go sit by your mailbox. Yep. Right now, all of you. Folks will think it's a nationwide movement of some kind, and we always need more of those.
P.S. : The postcards are going to trickle out at a more leisurely rate, starting soon. They'll be mysterious and unexpected and shaped pretty much exactly like postcards.
