About the "Shake Your Pants" project: I have a great job!  As a preschool teacher and artist-in-residence at the Leelanau Children's Center in Leland, Michigan, I incorporate music into children's play.  What makes my music unique is that I don't write music for children, I write music with children.  I get my ideas and inspiration from my preschoolers.  

We begin our day at the Children's Center with a fun, lively music circle. Over the years, I developed a long list of much loved favorites.  Three years ago, at the request of children, families and staff, I created my first children's CD of traditional tunes entitled Songs from the Circle. To produce this CD, I brought together some of the most talented musicians I could find to create the band TwangBangFiddle.   The success of this CD and the continuous requests for another recording have pushed me to produce a second album.  Shake Your Pants is a mix of my original, kid-inspired, fan-requested songs!   They are loved by preschoolers and parents alike.  So, get ready to ... Shake Your Pants!

This is where you come in...as you can imagine the costs of recording, paying musicians, and manufacturing CDs add up quickly.  Your support of this project through Kickstarter will help defray a good share of these costs.  My goal with this CD is to expand my fan base, getting this music into the homes of more families with young children.   Please join me in making this a reality!

Just another day at the office!  April 27...Parading down the main street in Northport MI with the kids singing , "I love a parade, I love a parade, I love a parade, I love a parade!" Celebrating the Month of the Young Child.

• APRIL 28 UPDATE:  FANTASTIC FIRST WEEK...ON TO WEEK 2!

We’re starting week 2, and we’ve already passed the two-thirds mark of our $2,500 goal.  Thank you for your support!  Now people are asking me what happens if I exceed this goal.  My plan would be to use any extra funds to further defray the cost of this project as well as trying to expand our fan base.  Funds from my initial goal of $2,500 will really only cover about one-third of the cost of producing this album.  Projected CD sales to my current fan base might recoup another third of the cost, still leaving a sizable chunk of change to cover.  I would so appreciate your continued support and your enthusiasm for spreading the word about my project to your networks in attempts to reach more families with young children.  I’m proud of this recording, and I would love to get it into the hands of as many families as I can.
