We are very excited about this opportunity to bring the show to Scotland, but getting there isn’t cheap.  The overall cost to produce a full-run (24 shows in 25 days) is $50,000! *Gasp*  

We need your help to help raise some money to cover a portion of this overall cost. This money will help pay for various production costs, including crew travel, room & board, promotional materials (flyers, posters, booklets) and festival performer payments.

What is The Super Serious Show? 

Starting in July 2010, The Super Serious Show set out to combine the best of the Los Angeles comedy scene, each show presenting a new mix of stand-up, sketch and music comedy, along with videos. Super Serious is more than a comedy show, with a full-fledge pre-party including music, drinks, sweets and food truck. Highlights include free beer from local favorite, Eagle Rock Brewery, free wine from Cube Café and food from one of Los Angeles’ gourmet food trucks.

During its regular run in Los Angeles, the show showcases some of the best performers working today, along with great young talent.  Past performers include Sarah Silverman, Weird Al Yankovic, Daniel Tosh, Demetri Martin, Chris Hardwick, Aisha Tyler, Reggie Watts, Margaret Cho, David Koechner, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Marc Maron, Thomas Lennon, Jimmy   Pardo, Matt Braunger, Dana Gould, Greg Fitzsimmons, The Sklar Brothers, Pete Holmes, Kumail Najiani, Garfunkel & Oates, Jen Kirkman, Iliza Shlesinger, Paul F. Since the show’s beginning, Mandee Johnson (producer/photographer) has captured the performers of the show with her 4x5 camera.  Over the past two years, she’s photographed over 120 Super Serious performers and directors. Choose from our vault of performer portraits & have your very own 5x7 print.

$100 – Construction Paper Card Portraits

Starting in January 2012, The Super Serious Show started running a weekly show in Los Angeles called Sad People Talking. As a way of saying thank-you to performers, Kyle Mizono began making construction paper card portraits for each comedian who performed on the show. Sticking with the sad theme of show, Kyle makes all of the portraits with big frowns.

$250 – Portrait Session

Mandee Johnson will do a one-on-one photo session with you at one of our Los Angeles shows. You’ve seen the awesome performer portraits and now it’s your turn!

DJ R-Rated will show up and DJ for 4 hours.  Just add food, beer and a 6-foot table!

$6,000 – Private Super Serious Show 

The Super Serious Show will put together a private comedy show for you and your friends at Café Club Fais Do-Do or the location of your choosing in the Los Angeles area. This includes a 1-hour pre party, show, event staff and performers. 

*Hard cost of the show, venue, lights, chairs, drinks, etc. not included.
