Talking Some More
I want to take the opportunity while doing this update to accomplish two very important goals. The first is to make sure that everyone knows I've put in another stretch goal. I'm having fun with this. It's almost as much fun as doing my second goal, but not quite. This stretch goal was recommended by Hugo Solis, the awesomeartist (I think that should be one word.) When we reach the $10k mark (I'm pretty sure we will too) everyone that has backed us $25 or more will receive a complete set of high quality prints of all of our iconics. There's eight of them: high elf, dark elf, dwarf, gnome, human, vykati, spark, and charlatan. These will be special edition prints suitable for framing. It's not likely that RPG will produce these prints again in the future. (Hugo will have rights to them, so he could.) This set will be hand signed by Hugo (I'll corner him at PaizoCon and buy him lunch while he signs stuff), myself, Anthony, and Tawen. Food stains added at no additional... oh, well, I'll print more if we get food on them. This is a great way to say Thank You to as many of our backers as possible. I'd even go down the $1 level if I could. If you gave a $1 or $5 and you're at PaizoCon, I'll be happy to give you a print of your choice.
Now for my most favorite thing to do in the whole world. I'm sure that most parents share this as a favored if not favorite pastime: embarrassing my children. Now I'm sure you're thinking, "Wait. What does this have to do with the kickstarter?" It has a lot to do with our kickstarter! Anthony is our lead designer and my son. This allows me to add in another favored pasttime-telling humorous stories.
When people see Anthony's work, they automatically make two assumptions: one is that he's older than he really is and the second unfortunate one that goes along with it, is that I'm much older than I really am. The guy does great design work, and even if were he not my son, he'd be high on my list of qualified people to do the job. He has years of experience in gaming and while I think I did a bang up job teaching him important things like suspension of disbelief, and leaving players in charge of their own PCs etc., I have to admit (and do so quite willingly) the student has surpassed the teacher.
How do you raise a gamer? You start young. How young? When Anthony was six months old we took him with us to the game store. I didn't need much (ok, I didn't NEED anything, but I WANTED...) just some dice. As we were getting back in the car, I handed the set to him. I figured that he'd like to shake them because of the rattle like noise it made. He shocked us by saying his first word. "DICE!" Wow. That was so amazing, I figured that it was just the random syllable combination that babies do. I took the dice away from him hoping to get him to say it again. That worked better than I hoped because out came the kid's first sentence! "That's my dice!"
And wouldn't you know it? That was the last time we heard him speak for another year. If I didn't have multiple witnesses (my wife and my parents) I wouldn't have believed it.
What I have for a lead designer isn't just some random person that happens to be good at game design. RPG is privileged to have as a lead designer someone that was quite literally, born to that purpose. When he announced a change in majors from biochemistry to game design, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. But I shouldn't have been surprised.

Includes everything in The Other reward. We'll include lifetime subscriptions for your friends as well and an extra two print copies from the stretch goal, so each person will get 2 copies of the limited edition World Guide. The backer is responsible for the expenses s/he and said friends aquire for going to the convention.
