Dear Fans,

We have been having so much fun with this fundraiser this month, doing public screenings and private screenings, only to discover that people really do appreciate what we are doing, not just as "indie filmmakers," but as artists with deep roots in the New Orleans community, and roots in other places as well.

In our final week of this fundraising effort, we want to let you know what we plan to do next, after we reach our present goal of $1,000 to create 3,000 DVDs through Discmakers.

• First, we plan to set up a booth for "It Is What It Is Projects" at the French Market in the historic New Orleans French Quarter (http://www.frenchmarket.org/), where we will sell the DVDs and cross-promote with other local artists and legends, like the Reverend Goat Carson, who has a key scene in Double Triple Zero. We expect that this booth, or something like it, will be an ongoing "point of exchange" with the local community and with tourists from all over the world.

• Second, we are in intense creative and business development on numerous "show business" projects, and continue to be collaborators on projects outside of It Is What It Is, including theatrical and musical work. Also, we expect that new, completed videos from our "Shine Project" (http://www.iiwiifilms.com/shine) will be surfacing this summer.

• Third, we have been invited by more than one venue in New Orleans to host a monthly "It Is What It Is Presents" type of event, where we can continue to showcase our own past and ongoing work, while also bringing in work by other artists we like, who - like us - are just trying to get their stuff out there, and we are not limiting this to "film and video." We are aggressively cross-media in our approach.

Now, as for our last week of fundraising, if you are reading this, you have probably already donated, and we thank you with all our heart. You have helped make this a truly wonderful month for It Is What It Is. But if you are following us and have not donated, please consider doing so before the deadline. We doubt you'll regret it, and you'll get our awesome DVD for donating just $10, and more cool stuff if you donate more! 

Another thing we are working on today is finalizing a partnership with a particular local organization, where we hope to send all of the money raised beyond our goal of $1,000. We believe in this and many other local New Orleans community non-profits, and we hope that giving them our fundraising spillover will raise as much money for them as it will for us, if not more!
