Sex, lies and big box DVDs
A quick update for you!
First, I'll be posting a longer video update tomorrow answering some of your questions. So if you have a question about the project please message me on kickstarter.
Second, I've posted the story info on Anglophile Adventure including a zoom in on the high res detail of the screenshot. Ain't it purdy? Perhaps a colorful historical setting is not what you associate with me, but I fondly remember working on King's Quest VI and I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen and Downton Abbey. I think some of you are, too, but, if not, you'll have a chance to vote for the game YOU want to play -- Moebius, Gray Matter 2 or Anglophile Adventure.
Third, speaking of VOTING, we've decided to bump up the game concept vote -- it will be next weekend, Apr 14-15. Some people want to know WHICH will be our first game before they pledge so we want to get that decided sooner. We will be sending out a schmancy pdf with the 3 concepts to those who have pledged $16 or more and will have an easy online vote poll for you. So if you want to vote, please pledge by Apr 13.
And big #4, we added a new tier at the $200 with some of the goodies you have been asking for -- a big box hard copy of the game, the gk1 design bible and ALL out season's music delivered digitally in lossless AIFF, WAV or mp3s.
Finally, not even worthy of a number, just a teensy question -- have you noticed anything unusual about the Moebius concept? I haven't seen anyone mention it. ;-)
Jane
P.S. - here's a picture of me visiting Lourdes, France -- a side jaunt on my research trip to Rennes-le-Chateau while working on GK3.

Hi! To answer your question
Assuming you mean the concept art, the women in the water is different than the one running on the dock. Is that the unusual thing you mentioned? The one in the water seems to be from a different time/world.
As for projects, personally, I'm sold to Grey Matter. Entirely. I thought the original had it's issues, but none had anything to do with writting and design as far as I could tell. I was very sad to learn that I'd never get to see where it wanted to go... and now I learn I just might! Behind you 100% in this. Ah, all this reminds of the good old days of waiting for GK3 on the forums with the old gang when I was a kid. Glad to hear from you again.
Creator WiredRacing on April 9, 2012
I enjoyed Grey Matter. The story was solid, characters were great. I actually thought the graphic novel cut scenes were a smart way to tell the story and keep the budget down. But ultimately I'm guessing the long development cycle likely impacted the end result significantly (didn't they change studios twice?). Don't get me wrong, I still love GK3, a lot. But I think keeping things old school here, should ensure no additional compromises to the end product. Plus if they do it the interface right they could easily distribute to XBLive/PSN as well as iOS devices. It's nice to see a place for every level of game production now. I'm not sure yet what I'd vote on. I'm hoping to see a 600K pledge amount so there's less compromise. :)
Creator Joseph Austin on April 9, 2012
@jerydraic - Jane did other things in between, just not adventure games. She dabbled in casual games quite brilliantly. I'm glad she's doing what she loves again, however.
Creator Michael Bender on April 9, 2012
After that closeup shot of Anglopile and all the detail level in it, I really start to love that project too. To be honest, I don´t care which game you will be working on first because I´ll play everything you create. That time of Jensen-emptiness between Gabriel 3 and Gray Matter (was it 10 years?) was way too long. And now maybe two games in a year? When I read it, I couldn´t believe my fucking eyes. But there will be a vote and so I decided to vote for Moebius because it´s something completely new.
Creator Jessica "Shandra" Ackerman on April 7, 2012
As much as I love Sam, I'm really leaning towards Moebius.... Especially if they're looking at trying to get the GK license.
Creator Christopher on April 7, 2012
I think Moebius is the thing im the most Interested for now, i like Sam but GK Series were better ;)
Creator Andrea "Androsx92" on April 7, 2012
I love Jane Austen, but also I loved Gray Matter so much...
Think I'll vote for Gray matter 2
Creator Jeremie Lariviere on April 7, 2012
I rally don't like horror, so Anglophile Adventure looks like the on?y one I'd be interested in..
Creator Marcio Araujo on April 6, 2012
Wow, i really liked Anglophile Adventure concept. It's really unfair to choose between the good games. But I think i will vote: Moebius, Anglophile Adventure, Gray Matter 2.
Creator Thomas Giles on April 6, 2012
Yeah-- I noticed the discrepancy between the reflection and the running girl. Guessing some sort of time-loop craziness? As in infinite-loop "Moebius Strip" perhaps? [shifty eyes]
Personally, I'm gonna be voting for Moebius. I haven't played the first Grey Matter, and I'm the kind of person that only ever sees things (films, books, whatever) in the order they were produced. So I'd like to see a new IP. I think it would probably be good to draw new people in to your games, too, if you start with a completely new IP. And Moebius grabs me more, I guess ;P
Creator Simon on April 6, 2012
Gah, didn't see that there were previous comments saying that already as they were collapsed.
Creator Simon on April 6, 2012
The unusual thing about the Moebius concept... the fact that the girl's reflection in the water doesn't match her appearance?
Creator Wojtek Sal, Pixel╬Hunters †гîΛηgłε dept. on April 6, 2012
Personally, I'm being torn between Gray Matter 2 and Moebius. GM was one of my favourite games during the last few years, I loved the smooth flow of the game, there wasn't any stutter in the timing as in most of today's adventures. And somehow I sense a whiff of Wicker Man in the description of the sequel. Moebius on the other hand is something completly fresh and the concept intrigues me with its hinting at multiple time layers or perhaps reincarnation. But Jane's a master storyteller, so I'm sure that every game of hers will be great.
Creator Joseph Austin on April 6, 2012
ike, good call. There's something to be said about having the team as passionate as possible
Creator ike on April 6, 2012
Should there be a "whichever the team is most interested in doing" option in the poll?
Creator João Paulo on April 6, 2012
Well Moebius suddenly became really desirable to me.I guess i know which one i will vote for.
Creator Jan Schneider on April 6, 2012
I don't think it's a reflection, it's in the wrong place for that. Maybe some kind of parallel world? Looking forward to the vote! :)
Creator William C Crawford on April 6, 2012
I noticed the weird reflection in the concept, but I wasn't sure what to think, and I wasn't about to insult the artist by telling them they don't know how to do reflections. ;)
Creator sVnsilver Sand, Dream Traveller on April 6, 2012
Wow, I didn't even realize the difference in the reflection on the Moebius concept work. 'Makes me like it that much more though. Intriguing :).
**Speculation** The theory of the Moebius: a twist in the fabric of space where time becomes a loop. (Urban dictionary)
Creator Joseph Austin on April 6, 2012
Haha I could totally see Dean making an appearance in a vid!
Creator Paskarl on April 6, 2012
As said before:
Get DEAN on the farm!
At least for joining one or two videos.
Creator Shiran on April 6, 2012
Malachi is in italicised in description. Hebrew word for herald?
Creator Joseph Austin on April 6, 2012
I'm betting Moebius wins, it looks very intriguing. I second the idea about bringing Tim or Dean in. Mr Erickson's retired from acting right now though, last I heard he was being a novelist and a sort of business coach. But who knows, right? As for Tim, he's pretty expensive I would wager.
Creator @Wowdane | KaG - KS Adventure Gang | on April 6, 2012
Regarding Moebius - are you talking about the reflection in the water, that shows a different girl or maybe the same in another time? :)
Creator Paskarl on April 6, 2012
Guess that too.
The picture in the water shows a different woman (from a different age?).
Mystical :-)
Creator Stiler Orion on April 6, 2012
The reflection of the girl is perhaps from another time(clothing jewelry) , maybe time travel,an alternate dimension version of her, an ancestor, or perhaps I'm just reading to much into it lol.
Creator Jane Jensen on April 6, 2012
@Ilias -- give that man a cigar!
@Gino -- wouldn't that be fun? Yes, I would love to - either, both! - if they're available.
Creator Patrik Wilke on April 6, 2012
I guess the reflection in the water Jane?
Creator Gino Cabiati on April 6, 2012
Nice Picture!
Question; any chance on getting Tim Curry in any role in upcoming projects? Or even Dean Erickson, I hear he's not even acting anymore, but still would be nice.
Cheers.
Creator Ilias "retrospect" on April 6, 2012
Taking about the reflection of the girl in the waters ,right ?
