The best Filipino food in Portland is about to be legal and served! Help put the finishing touches on The Kula Kart!
It started as a desire to have a new career -- one where I could interact with people and work with my hands (instead of sitting at a computer all day). I did a lot of brainstorming, and quickly settled on my favorite idea: bringing authentic Filipino cuisine to the people of Portland and creating a comfortable social environment in which they can enjoy it!
Food carts are great, and there are a lot of nice pods (groupings of carts) in Portland. I realized I was lucky: I live on a busy street (SE Division); I could put my cart in my own mixed-use zoning driveway; and I could create a comfortable seating area for eating and socializing. It's my own little one-cart pod, or what I am calling a Mono-Pod!
In the video (above), you can see the work that has gone into remodeling my 1956 Dalton Trailer. The covered area is coming along, and will soon be very homey.
