Her first documentary as a director and producer, YELLOW OX MOUNTAIN, has screened at numerous festivals, received a Best Short Film Award, broadcast on WNET Thirteen, and is distributed by Filmaker’s Library. In the past she worked as an assistant at Maysles Films, edited a feature-length PBS documentary and programs for National Geographic. Miao has a B.A. in economics from the University of Chicago and a M.F.A. in design and film from the Parsons School of Design.
