oh, a bio. okay. i can do this. a special one just for kickstarter :)
i was born in ramona, a small town in the hills outside of san diego, california. moved to long beach when i was 4 and grew up there with my brother as my best friend. i used to pretend that we were twins (he didn't).
i wrote my first song when i was15, traveling with my mom. i performed it at a women's open mic night in bellvue, washington and there was an incredible response. blew me away really. maybe i even got a little shy with my music for a while after that. then i got really into school, science especially, and eventually moved to the bay area to study at Berkeley. towards the end of my time there is when i started to realize that i wasn't gonna be able to ignore the songs anymore.
i started writing music a lot. after graduation, i spent all my time on music. i joined a local dreampop band called 'minipop' ( www.myspace.com/minipop ) and eventually formed my own band and called it 'built for the sea' ( www.myspace.com/builtforthesea ).
we played a lot of shows as built for the sea; we traveled around, played at festivals and things like that. oh, and we recorded one album and one ep.
this brings us about up to date ... and now, i'm finding that i have a whole bunch of more delicate songs that didn't quite make sense as built for the sea songs and i'm priming those now, hoping to record them soon on my very own debut solo album :)
