"Waller's evocative voice will always foreground his creative output, but he has the vision of an artist, rather than a vocalist. As such, he uses that beauty as a tool to establish an emotional foothold with the audience, so that he can then unpack his finely crafted and haunting sensibility."
- The Portland Mercury
Holcombe Waller is an indie singer-songwriter and performing artist with three critically acclaimed albums, all released on his own label. He's currently working on producing a fan-funded fourth record, which is largely comprised of songs from his theatrical folk show, "Into the Dark Unknown: The Hope Chest." He tours nationally with his band, The Healers.
Holcombe is known for classic 60s/70s-inspired folk songwriting, singular heartfelt vocals and unique interdisciplinary & collaborative performance projects. He has worked with the Joe Goode Performance Group of San Francisco ("Small Experiments in Song and Dance," 2008 and "Dead Boys," 2009) and with Zoe | Juniper ("Old Girl," 2008 and ongoing work). Ann Powers lauded his album "Extravagant Gesture" as a "small pop epic," and Spin Magazine called it "the missing link between Jeff Buckley and George Michael," though we're not really sure why. Listen to his music: you be the judge!
