I am a Detroit Transplant, growing up in the burbs of Flint, MI. After surviving 13 years of Catholic Education, I moved west to attend James Madison at Michigan State University with the intent to become a Constitutional Lawyer. During my first semester, I was introduced to technology; fell madly in loved with it and eventually switched my major to Telecommunications. By the end of my first senior year, I had a random encounter that redirected my focus and began purchasing rental properties in Michigan's Capital, which lead me to a career in Mortgage Planning upon graduation.
In late 2004, I packed my bags and moved east to Metro Detroit. By the end of 2008, I decided it was time to dust off the cobwebs and use my college degree after being inspired by a real estate friend who was venting about the negativity of the local news media to create her blog Positive Detroit. Fast forward to April 10, 2009 and Positive Cities Detroit Dot Com launches with a Detroit Tiger’s Opening Day Tweet Up held from the Press Box.
Besides my passion for promoting the positives from the Mitten state, I enjoy discovering hidden gems in and around the D, taking my dog for long walks on the River Front, cheering on my favorite sports teams, defying Gravity during Bikram Yoga, spending copious amounts of time making itunes playlists, and perfecting my accidental chef skilz. I reside in Fabulous Ferndale.
