Exhibit A is a premier venue for contemporary art in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. Located in Corning's historic Gaffer District on the second floor of the Pure Design building, Exhibit A presents exhibitions of distinctive quality. However, this venture is not only about what happens in the gallery. Exhibit A is working to develop innovative events and services that showcase artists and tap into the wonder and excitement the visual arts can generate. We bring people and art together.

Exhibit A started only this year and already has: presented the work of over 90 different artists and designers from as far away as Amsterdam the Netherlands; helped WSKG raise money by hosting 'Beyond the Boudaries'; showed contemporary neon during the Glass Art Society's 2009 Conference; put on numerous events open to the public and participated in Corning Gallery Hops.

Facilities at Exhibit A's Market Street space include a main gallery and two additional smaller galleries that allow for great flexibility when presenting exhibitions. Exhibit A also features a media room where two can sit and experience new media art or watch informational videos about the artists and art that's being presented. Recently Exhibit A has been expanded to around 1100 square feet and will be upgraded as soon as possible to provide additional services.

Founded in 2009 by artist / curator Ann Welles, Exhibit A seeks to present great art thereby promoting artists' careers and bringing vibrancy to the community. Ms. Welles has 20 years experience as an artist. She has run 171 Cedar Art Center's Houghton Gallery since 2005, where she discovered she can get as excited about other artists' work as she does her own.

The 2009 Exhibition Series will conclude with a solo show by Allen Bentley that opens October 16.
