GERLAN MARCEL BIO
After graduating from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design in 2005, Gerlan spent six seasons designing memorable prints and graphics for LA based designer, Jeremy Scott. Since relocating to New York City in 2006 and launching her own surface design studio called PRINTS PLEASE, Gerlan has been designing and printing textiles and graphics for designers
and mega-brands including Patricia Field, Barbie, Calvin Klein, and Libertine. Gerlan has also worked in technical design for labels and brands including, Hussein Chalayan and Coach.
In February 2009, Gerlan set out on her own print adventure with the introduction of GERLAN JEANS, a sportswear brand for men and women, specializing in prints, pattern and color! The GERLAN JEANS debut collection, titled “Peace & Love Inc.” was shown during New York Fashion Week at the home of Sex and the City Costume designer Patricia Field. Highlighting the Power of Print, the collection recieved world wide coverage for its bright colors, energetic prints and positive vibrations.
The celebration of print and color continued, with the GERLAN JEANS Spring/Summer 2010 collection titled, “By Any Jeans Necessary”, followed by the most recent collection for Fall/Winter 2010, titled, “No Monster Left Behind”. GERLAN JEANS looks forward to a bright and colorful print filled future! Watch out World...the fun has just begun!
