Colin Christy is an artist living in and outside Oakland. Colin recieved his BFA in 2008 at Washington University in St. Louis and has been working in the Bay Area as an artist and arts organizer ever since. He co-founded The Bootstrap, an alternative arts and music space in Oakland. His art practice ranges from drawing to guerilla sculpture, earthworks to events.
Colin's recent sculptural works tend to respond to the different environments that he finds himself immersed in. He takes pieces of evidence from these environments, and uses them as the primary building materials in his pieces. The work looks at the cultural impressions that have made their mark on the landscape as a lens for deeper insight into our collective priorities.
