Rick Marson

Rick Marson, much like MC Hammer, is a super dope homeboy from the Oaktown, and likes to tell people so. People are usually embarrassed for him, but you probably think it's a cool and interesting fact. Rick doesn't live there anymore though. He moved ... view more

        That's great Rick!

Horace looks perfect, and I'm glad you chose not to sacrifice quality for speed. It sounds like you found a great company to partner with for the rest of the zombie horde as well!

The Age Old Question Finally Answered: Are Zombies Fast Or Slow?

    Slow.

    Did I say October? I meant December…

Apocalypses, especially those of the zombie variety, take a surprising amount of time to get started if you want to do it right.

You'd think it would be pretty quick, just throw some strange chemicals into a bag with an ancient curse, a voodoo priest, the Necronomicon, and a dash of T-virus.  Then, over book Hell, and shake vigorously in the light of a mysterious comet. Bam! Zombie Apocalypse.

I decided to go a different route. I decided to to have each ZOM in the entire horde manufactured instead of the more widely accepted, and much more sloppy zombie creation method, The Zombie Pyramid Scheme, i.e. a zombie bites two people, those two new zombies bite two people… etc, etc.

For any of you who know me, you know I like to have things just right. So, I've been going back and forth with the manufacturer to make sure that when Horace shows up at your door and tries to eat your brains and/or gnaw your foot off, he'll be the bestest, cutest little ankle biter he can be.

You'll thank me later, if you survive.

The good news is there will still be hand-made ZOMs at the ZomBcon in Seattle (www.zombcon.com), so if you are at the show stop by and say hello.

Photoshopped image that merges the last two prototypes, sent
back to the manufacturer with notes.

    Nerves and Comics

    Hello Survivors,

The going has been much slower than planned on the fully hand-made custom ZOMs.

For the last couple months I've been battling carpel tunnel-esque symptoms in my sewing hand. Pain, tingles, poor grip, and stiffness, the whole deal.

I've been to a psychical therapist, and I'm getting back to pretty close to normal. Turns out it was actually nerves in my neck and shoulder that were being pinched from a lifetime of bad posture, and being hunkered over the ZOMs I've been making.

Now that things are getting back to normal I can get back up to full speed, or close to it, I still need to be careful so that I don't re-aggravate the problem.

While prototypes are still being worked up in China, I took one of my Horaces and his new friend, the hand-made custom, Zeek, down to San Diego for Comic Con.

I dropped Zeek off with his new owners. Zeek is actually a character from the web comic Zombie Ranch. If you are interested in finding out more about him, check out http://www.zombieranchcomic.com/

Horace and I met Toby Turner.

Bianca found me. She owns two ZOMs already, and has a Horace coming soon. She tracked me down at the con to sign her Daisy ZOM.

Now that the excitement is all over, and problems have been fixed, I'm back to working on the customs. Right now I'm dying yarn for a Fiery Dreadhawk!

More info as soon as I get it.

    Good Luck.
