Posted project update #1Nearing last call! 34 hours until the official launch of 15 Writers' Houses in 15 Days!
Post CommentThe day before yesterday I went to Dickens' Birthplace, yesterday I spied Jane Austen's house, and today, I rushed back into London to hop on a train back out of town to Darwin's Down House on the occasion of his 203rd birthday. Things are very busy when you're trying to visit 15 Writers' Houses in 15 Days. I started the project slightly early, as soon as it met its minimum goal (Since some house are only open on weekends here it gives me more chance to see houses in far-flung places.) I hope this means I'll get to add a few extra houses to my journey.
It would mean so much to me if you could take a moment to tweet, facebook, blog, email, or otherhow spread the word about this collaborative mail art, story map, research adventure. If I were to reach 5K by the end of the fundraising period, I would be able to undertake some much needed updates to the Writers' Houses website, in addition to the ongoing maintenance costs. There's still original art to be had and limited edition illustrations by the incredible Badaude (http://www.guardian.co.uk/profile/joanna-walsh), and souvenirs and postcards to be snagged up. I can't wait to send off the little special item I bought yesterday.
I've been so inspired for how much enthusiasm you've shared for this project. I can't wait to send you snail air mail. The postcards are itching to be posted! I just await your addresses which I will request when we hit the fundraising deadline.
I wish you literary pilgrimages and luck,
A. N. Devers
