Posted project update #4With your support, we totally did it!
Post CommentDear North Country backers,
With your dedicated support, we successfully reached our $7,000 goal today! I find myself absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity you've shown my project. It is truly a thrilling and wonderful time for the dancers and myself! A bajillion thanks and a big hug to each and every one of you. We would not be where we are now without your help.
Over the next few days, I'll be in touch regarding project rewards! I'll also continue to update you on white road Dance Media's progress to Austin, TX.
Again, my heartfelt gratitude to you all! I wish I could grow another heart and thank you from the bottom of that one, too.
Love,
Marisa and wrDM

Posted project update #37 hours to go, and we're at 80%!!
Post CommentThis is an exciting time, and I can hardly sit still or eat or anything, really! We have just 7 hours left to reach our $7,000 goal on kickstarter, and we're almost there! As you know, funding is all or nothing- so we've gotta hit that $7,000 mark!
With your generous support, we've come this far, and I feel so very honored and absolutely overwhelmed. In these last hours, any spreading of the word & project link is greatly appreciated! Finish line, here we come!
Much love,
Marisa

Posted project update #7One last plea to renew your pledge
Post CommentHello original North Country backers,
There's still time to renew your pledge to my relaunched project, North Country Goes South! We have about 24 hours to meet our goal, and we're currently at 65%. If you've already renewed, thank you so very much for your continued commitment to supporting the arts!
If you have not yet had a chance to revisit us on kickstarter, re-pledging will only take a moment's time, and your renewed support is deeply appreciated.
Simply follow this link to North Country Goes South! : http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/whiteroaddancemedia/north-country-goes-south
Sincerely,
Marisa

Posted project update #2The final countdown!
Post CommentDear North Country supporters,
I'm so overwhelmed by all the the support you've given my project so far! We've now got less than 48 hours to go to reach our goal of $7,000. Currently we're at a little more than 60% of this goal, and as you know, if we don't raise the remaining funds in time, we won't receive any of the pledges.
You've already given so generously, and now I humbly ask you for one more favor- share the project link with anyone you know who could help out. As little as a dollar does get us closer to our goal!

Many thanks,

Posted project update #6Another reminder to renew your pledge to North Country!
Post CommentHello friends,
As you may know, my last attempt at fundraising on kickstarter was unsuccessful. I've since relaunched the project, and am asking you to renew your pledge amount so that we can reach our new goal in time. Since kickstarter is all or nothing funding, if we don't reach $7,000 by June 21, we won't receive any of the pledged monies.
Here's the project link: North Country Goes South!
To renew your pledge, simply go to the link above, and click on the green button that says "back this project."
Sincerest thanks to you.
Best,
Marisa + wrDM

Posted project update #5RELAUNCH!
Post CommentDear backers,
That old adage of "If at first you don't succeed..." has been on my mind since my project failed to reach its funding goal a few days ago. I wasn't sure whether to abandon the whole thing or give it another go.
Luckily my good friend Gabriella recently reminded me of something that the ever-quotable Winston Churchill once said, probably to Nic Cage while they were both at a U2 show:
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
So it is with no loss of enthusiasm that I write to you now and ask you to renew your pledge to my re-imagined project, North Country Goes South! The heart of the project stays the same: we still aim to bring wrDMfrom NYC to Austin TX to perform with live music; we still want to deepen the project further as well as create a new site-specific work for young folks. The main difference is that I've lowered the fundraising goal from $10,000 to $7,000, which we should reach in no time at all, and- with some serious enthusiasm- totally surpass!
Many thanks to you all for your continued support.
Marisa + wrDM
