    Europe Shoot --- Complete!

    Hey all

Here's a blog entry showing how the Europe shoot went. I think you're gonna love it. We are nearly done shooting now. I'm gonna grab like 3 or 4 more people, and then we're done. This is big, folks. The film is international now.

    http://vivaamigafilm.blogspot.com/2012/04/viva-amiga-in-europe.html

Again, from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU for donating to this film. You made this trip possible. The film is gonna be spectacular. We are swimming in great material and the editing plan is in place.

    Viva Amiga shoot this weekend

    www.midwestgamingclassic.com

Hey all, just a reminder for those in the Milwaukee and Chicago metro areas, Viva Amiga is gonna be here this weekend doing some interviews with gaming and Commodore historians. But if you can come on out and want to say hello, perhaps we can get you interviewed, if you have a story to tell. Also, yeah. Giant frickin arcade. Yeah.

    Euro Shoot Booked and Planned

Big stuff, guys. The European trip is scheduled. Marvin Droogsma has basically taken this intimidating part of the film's journey and OWNED it, booking the locations and making it incredibly easy for me to focus on the job of documenting gaming and the demoscene, along with some special interviews with people like Petro T. Tyschtschenko. We will be at Revision in Germany and here in Holland for party and interviews. Will be in Frankfurt and Essen in Germany.

    http://www.amigascene.nl/modules/news/article.php?storyid=662

4th – Zach Arrives early in Amsterdam. Spending the day to get equipment and travel to Germany. Stopping by in Essen presumably.
    5th – At Petro’s place for interview.
6th – Visit Revision (Germany) and do some shoots/interviews.
7th – Back to Holland for Dutch demo party (so please, not too early)
    8th – Resting day and/or do some final interviews/shoots/edits
9th – We cry and sob for hours because Zach is going back home…

Was just thinking about this over the weekend! Great to hear back from you and that progres is being steadly made on the film. I won't be able to make it to any of those events in April unfortunately (I'm based near Manchester, England) to represent the Lemoners but I'll certainly bump you on the Lemon Amiga forum in case others can take advantage of this. Again, EXCELLENT WORK.

The Big California shoot, Part 1.

Check the blog post. It was a huge success. I could NOT have done this without you. I bought a camera and paid for the airfare and hotel with your money. Thank you so much, backers. It means the world to me that you had faith in me. You are gonna love this film.

Wow, RJ Mical has changed a lot. Did he tell the story about how he was told they were working on a "Game Machine" when he interviewed, until he pointed out the Keyboard and External Drive ports?

    The Big One

    http://www.sacc.org/amiwest/

This is it folks, the big shoot. We've got RJ, Dale, possibly Needle, Trevor and others all lined up and booked for filming. This is a milestone for the film. Yeah! We leave for SFO Airport bright and early! First shooting near San Francisco with RJ, then out to Sacramento for AmiWest.

Thanks to all who have donated, once again. This trip would not have been possible without your support. We bought our own camera gear and booked hotels, and still have money left to travel to Europe, fulfill the orders and a few other misc expense.

    THANK YOU!!!

Stay tuned for pics and blog entries about the interviews...

Thanks for the update Jach. I am not sure if you got my emails or not, but it might be worth speaking to Alan Redhouse too, he is pivotal in the classic and next gen Amiga story and is a nice guy. Have fun at Amiwest.

no clue if you already got plans on the end credits. but wouldnt it be fun to get pictures of different amiga clubs from around the world to show inbetween the credits? sorta like the montage's at the end of some movies like Lethal Weapon 4?

    California or Bust

The flight to Cali is officially booked.  We will be attending the AmiWest show out there and getting interviews with users and contemporaries on the Amiga scene, like Trevor Dickinson, who is one of the men behind the AmigaOne line of new Amiga hardware. We're also shooting original Amiga team developers like Dave Needle and Dale Luck, the guys who along with RJ Mical, created the Amiga and sold it to Commodore.

We will be in the Bay Area and Sacramento from Oct 19-23. It's coming together, but if anyone knows of more good interview candidates in that area who we can get ahold of, please let me know. THANK YOU AMIGANS FOR GIVING ME AIRFARE MONEY!!!!

    amiga forever

If Dennis VanWeeren (creator of Miinimig), Mike J from Amiga.org (Creator of Arcade Replay - AKA Minimig AGA) or any of the NATAMI guys are there you should interview them too... This is the latest Amiga Modern Hardware out or in developement. Good luck in California!!!

In my opinion, also the guys behind ACube deserve an interview. For years, they are developing motherboards (Sam440,Sam460 etc..) with regular support for AmigaOS4 and are offering complete machines ( see the last entry AmigaONE500 ).
I think they have sustained a great economic effort to develop such machines, without asking money before the product was ready.

    Little test render....

    Hi everyone

I wasn't sure if everyone realized the amount of CGI we plan to use in the film, but I wanted to show a little progress on that. Dave Kessler is hooking us up with this nice 1084s Monitor and I'm working on a 500. Check it out...

    Work in progress....

Bonus Points for using Cinema4D, for me still one of the standout Amiga Apps, although they have evolved a bit since the last Amiga version :)

    Update on email

    Hey everyone.

Don't worry! I'm still right here. My apologies for being out of touch for a little while. Been crazy busy with work, but that's slowing down finally.

My intention with sending everyone emails was to get your shipping information, but on the advice of a couple colleagues, they have advised me to wait until we are closer to the shipping date. I won't want out of date shipping info if I can help it, and a lot can change for people in a year, and that's when we expect to ship.

So that means we are relying on the email address that you have linked to Kickstarter to maintain contact. If you should change your email address, PLEASE update your kickstarter account or send an email to vivaamiga@gmail.com at the very least. I want to make sure you get your packages.

On the film front, its going alright. We've got some more 3D modeling done, but its been a lot of phone tag with interviewees lately. I think everyone has just been insanely busy. But I'm prepared to take advantage of the coming slowdown to get more accomplished.

Incidentally, I haven't spent any of the money yet! Heh. I'm not gonna waste a single cent. I'm sorry if anyone was worried. It's steady as she goes.

Thanks again for your support. I will NOT disappoint you.

    Zach

Don't worry! Besides, I would much rather wait and get a better product then have someone in a hurry and produce something that's not at it's best. I'm behind you all the way, and I'm sure there's lots others that are too!
