Posted project update #3Sad update on Speak ZimLove
Post CommentHi everyone,
I am sorry to share this sad news, but the musicians' visas were denied, so we are putting the Speak ZimLove 2010 tour on hold until spring 2011. If you are still willing to donate to this tour, we can still try to reach our goal in the next few days, and these funds will get put towards the rescheduled tour.
We have spoken at length with an immigration lawyer about the chances of getting a visa approved in the future, and it seems very likely we will be able to get Speak ZimLove on the road soon. We won't give up hope to get these musicians here and their message out!
Thank you all SO much for your support, and please check out www.speakzimlove2010.com for further updates. Or feel free to email me with questions or ideas: verity@speakzimlove2010.com.
Thanks again :-) Verity

Posted project update #2Update from Bongo Love and Outspoken
Post CommentBongo Love and Outspoken are still in their home, Harare. Here's a video update from them, with love from Harare, with a taste not just of their lives in Zim, but also of what they hope to bring to the USA - love, education, music, culture, hope. Please help us support these guys and get them over here to the USA...our campaign is doing well, but we've still got a ways to go. Thanks SO much for your support thus far, and look forward to making this happen!!

Posted project update #1Thank you!!
Post CommentHi everyone,
First of all, a BIG THANK YOU to all of you who have backed this tour thus far -- much much appreciated! For those of you who are receiving rewards, your names are listed on our tour website: www.speakzimlove2010.com. The rest of the rewards will be disbursed when the campaign ends on August 7.
We still have a ways to go - both with this tour and with our fundraising campaign. We are facing delays with the musicians' US visas, but are in close contact with USCIS and it seems like we should have news by the end of this week. Which means the guys will be here on time - August 2!
Likewise, we have come a long way with this fundraising campaign, but we are still a long way from our $2000 goal. We've raised more than $700 (Thank you again!!) but we still need almost $1300 more. If we don't reach our goal, the campaign effectively gets canceled and none of the funding goes through. If you have friends who you think would support this tour, please please help us get the word out. It is so important that we get these guys over -- as you know, things are so challenging in Zimbabwe, this tour will help the musicians spread the word about their country.
Again, thank you!!
:-) Verity
