Posted project update #2Fundraising For I Love Mountains
Post CommentWe appreciate the fact a place like Zorthian Ranch can lead a peaceful weird existence, but other mountains and folks that build lives around them are not so fortunate. To support the protection of mountains (and their Zorthians), funds raised at the festival will be donated to I Love Mountains, an organization dedicated to halting mountaintop removal, a destructive mining practice that has gone mostly unregulated since the 1970s. The tops of mountains are literally removed to get at coal. It “can involve removing 500 feet or more of the summit to get at buried seams of coal. The earth from the mountaintop is then dumped in the neighboring valleys,” says the EPA. Read more about it at this link.

Posted project update #1LINEUP & TICKETS & MORE
Post CommentHello
Thanks so much for supporting The Folk Fest. It means a lot to us.
Tickets are on sale for The 2nd New L.A. Folk Fest at Zorthian Ranch, taking place on August 6th. Don't miss this day of sunshine, splashing in the pool, roaming with llamas, and 26 bands. That's right, twenty-six bands and only a few hundred people can get tickets. Tickets are limited, very limited! We've got this opportunity to throw the biggest summer party literally on a historic piece of art...You've got to see Zorthian Ranch to believe it!
Check out the lineup and find tickets at http://www.lafolkfest.com.
Besides adding one more sweet notch to the Ranch's epic party legacy, the Fest is leading a troop of volunteers over to help restore the property, fix lights, move giant heads, and tidy up so that its cracked and crumbling ruins gleam like an ancient city with the grass cut back. Thanks again for participating. The Kickstarter campaign ends this Sunday night so please help us post the link and spread the word in these last few days. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/trailerfire/the-2nd-new-los-angeles-folk-festival

Posted project update #2Thank you thank you thank you!
Post CommentA big, warm thanks goes out to all of our supporters! Without you, this festival wouldn't be able to happen. It's going to be so much fun and we can't wait to see all of your smiling faces on Saturday. The Gulf cleanup efforts really need our support and we're happy to be able to do it with such a great day of music and friends.
Rewards will be handed out at the festival, so come see Daiana or James to collect your goodies! For all you outta town people who cannot make the festival, we'll mail out the rewards ASAP.
Thank you so much!
