Posted project update #2Hi Supporters!
Post CommentI am so happy that the Kickstarter campaign was successful. Things are now in full swing. I have met with my composer, Clint Borzoni, and we have selected poetry of Walt Whitman as the basis for our cycle. Also, when we met, we had an interview regarding particulars of my singing, and what kind of journey I wanted to take while singing Clint's songs. I then sang a few sketches of ideas Clint had with him, to see how they fit my voice. We played around with his ideas. Let me tell you...the kid's a genius. Everything felt great in my voice. After that, I sang a few of my favorites, and a few "not so favorites" so he would have a better idea of what and how my voice works (and doesn't).
Also, after our meeting, I took the poems and studied them. Then I recorded them and emailed them to Clint. He says he will use this to help him build his pacing, interpretation of the poems, and get a general sense of my energy with the words. What he will do next is go over my recordings and plan the harmonic goals of the cycle. Once he has made his game plan, and then, he says, the true composing and inspiration begins.
I believe we are going to have a hit here! I will be posting updates on Kickstarter and my blog www.timhill-photography.com as we travel through this journey!
