commented on a project updateOk, Holidays over, wife recovering nicely from surgery (and going back to work next week) so I'm back on this full time till it's done. I was supposed to be done today but surgery/ recovery set me back a few weeks. So, I should be done with the illustrations in 3 weeks from Monday (Jan 3). Sorry for the hold up guys. Having organs removed is apparently a big deal and I underestimated how much it would take me away from work. JP

commented on a project updateYay! Progress! I'm going to start rolling out this page by page. I'll be snail-mailing Duane original pics to send to people starting next week some time. Then I'll start publishing this page by page (rather than doing it all at once, which is just too doggone slow).

commented on a project updateIndeed, this are progressing a bit slower than planned. Originally I planned on a per page rate of about a day, and it's coming out more like 5 days per page. I think this is because I've done the "special" ones first (the ones that need to look like the contributors according to spec.) I'm currently inking away and I'll do layout afterward unless anyone has a personal preference on having these out a sheet at a time (vs all at once). I've got the template made in InDesign for this, so I should just need to fit the images in the template and publish the pages. Anyhow, that's where I am on this. Pages are slowly getting completed. Slower than planned at least. Overall I'm looking at about 100 individual illustrations and I'm about 30% done. I hope that now that I'm largely done with the really special pics, I can pick up some speed and blast out the rest and be done by November 7-14.

commented on a projectOh hey, while it's on my mind, the images on the splash page for this are examples only. An approximation of the style planned for this project. Some are mine to use for self-promotion only, so I won't be re-using them. Just wanted to suss that out in advance. This is 60 fresh illustrations (some of which are based on our patrons).
