Posted project update #14February Project Contest
Post Comment
Hello again Teagueduino backers!
We'd like to try something new for the month of February: a Teagueduino project contest!
We've been spending a lot of time making improvements to the Teagueduino editor and the community site, and we'd love to help Teagueduino grow and get more involved with education. But since the community is still young, we don't have a lot of projects yet. That's where you come in -- we need you to help us showcase and inspire the world with what Teagueduino can do. What's the awesomest project you can dream up?
Here's how the February project contest works.1. Create a Teagueduino account if you don't have one yet at http://teagueduino.org
2. Submit as many projects as you like over the month of February (all submitted projects will be automatically entered).
3. View projects on the community website and vote for the ones you like most. You can vote on as many projects as you like (hint: you can even get your friends to vote for you).
4. On March 1st we'll count the votes and announce the winners. :)What can you win? We're glad you asked!
CATEGORIES & PRIZES
Special prizes picked by the Teagueduino team:- Best classroom project: Make a cool science experiment, a math puzzle, a psychology test, a simple game for test reviews, or whatever else you can think of that helps bring Teagueduino into classrooms. For a prize we'll send you a full standard Teagueduino kit, great for giving to a friend or organization who wants to learn about electronics and programming!
- Most creative project: We'll send you a box full of awesome arts and crafts supplies (pipe cleaners and green tape, anyone?) to help you continue to make even more awesome projects!People's Choice - Voted best by the community (that's you!):
- 1st: We'll send you a bag of Extra I/O (including a red Laser and two continuous rotation servos) for your Teagueduino, and feature your project on the Teagueduino home page.
- 2st: We'll send you an extra bag of Teagueduino Outputs, and feature your project on the Teagueduino home page.
- 3st: We'll send you an extra bag of Teagueduino Inputs, and feature your project on the Teagueduino home page.So get out your Teagueduino kits and start making!
Of course, if you get stuck along the way, be sure to drop by the Teagueduino discussions page and share your questions/thoughts with the community -- we're all happy to help. Good luck. :)

Posted project update #13Lunch Break Build delayed until Wednesday
Post CommentSorry for the extra email everyone!
A scheduling conflict means we have to push back our lunch break build-a-thon to Wednesday the 18th. Everything else is the same: we'll be building from 12-1:30pm PST (or click here for your local time), and you'll be able to find us in a Google+ hangout on Matt's profile. Bring your ideas/questions/projects/
While we've got your attention, Seattle-area backers: would you be interested in a local meetup/build session? We love Metrix on capitol hill (which if you haven't been yet, you should go) and if anyone's interested could get together to talk shop and build some projects. If you're interested, respond in the comments and we'll send you an email down the line if it's gonna happen.
Hope to see some of your creations on Wednesday :)

Posted project update #12Let's Hang Out and Make Together!
Hello everyone! Happy 2012, I hope you're all excited to make things this year.
Let's make some things together! The best way we can think of to do this is a Google+ Hangout. So, next Tuesday, January 17th, at 12:00pm Pacific Time join us on Matt's Google+ page where we'll be making things ourselves over the lunch break and we'll be available to answer any questions or work through any problems.
Our one recommendation: break out the craft supplies. I think we said this in our kickstarter video, but it's really not about the Teagueduino board. It's the stuff you make with it. The kit is really just a toolset to make things interactive. So bring some glue, bring some scissors, some cardboard, paper, felt, pipe cleaners, googley eyes, popsicle sticks, and whatever you have around. For a little inspiration you can look at the Teague Holiday Video that's attached.
If the Hangout is something that works, we'll definitely do some more events in the future.
If you haven't received your kit yet, hold tight. The one, big downside of being not-for-profit is that we were pretty limited in our shipping options. USPS was pretty unspecific about timeframe, and made it clear that times could vary quite a bit. But thank you for your patience. Rough count seems to show that around two-thirds of the kits have been received, and more kits are being received every day. If yours doesn't show up in the next week or two be sure to let us know.
Hope to see you next Tuesday!

Kevin, should be back up now. Not sure why that's happening, but we're looking into it. Craig, thanks for the heads up! We were a little uncertain about those glue dots, but the next step up in tackiness was "permanent" and we figured we should go a step down from that :) But you're right, in the long term a flap/die-cut solution would probably be ideal. Luckily the board is pretty rugged and everyone's should be in good shape. But if anyone has an issues out of the box, be sure and let us know!

No, unfortunately no tracking info. We wanted to, but the budget was so tight in the end that we had to ship standard USPS (Parcel Post for US backers, 1st class international standard package for outside the US). We decided early on that the focus was on delivering the best user experience for every dollar that was backed, and that went into quality hardware components and assembly more than anything. Everything was shipped from Seattle, so you can roughly estimate by distance from there.

Posted project update #11Get ready for Teagueduino!
This is the update you've all been waiting for -- all of the Teagueduino kits are now in the mail!
Now, now... don't get too worked up. Since the holiday rush is in full swing, the post office told us that many packages (especially international) may not arrive for 2-3 weeks. That means it may not be there in time for the 25th, but we'll keep our fingers crossed. :)
It's been a LOT of work putting together all of the Teagueduino boxes over the past couple months. Thanks to everyone for all of the awesome support along the way. We can't wait for you to check it out and give it a try!
P.S. Even thought the boxes are out, we're still working hard on the Teagueduino community website. If you have thoughts, suggestions, or find bugs you'd like ironed out, share it with us here.

Website is back up! You currently can't make system calls or read files, but that's definitely something worth looking into. As for shipping, everything should be out the door by Friday! International and all, even though customs does love giving us extra paperwork to do :)

Would it be strange at this point for international backers to have not recieved their reward?
