Posted project update #15Rewards are coming together
Post CommentHello LOU fans. I wanted to update you on the progress with the rewards. I and my elfin assistant Nicki are getting things together, and will soon be mailing the various rewards out to you. Sorry for the delay, but my author book copies came right before my tour dates in NY- had no time to get this together. Hopefully we will get it all out before I hit the road again this coming tuesday- 2 weeks on the road driving the west coast, talking Lou. Check my website for dates and locations; hope some of you can make one!
The first four events were very successful; NYC, Sag Harbor, and two in Seattle. The event at Third Place Books here at home was wild- nearly a hundred people came... the store sold out of books.
I will be emailing some of you today or tomorrow, as I do not have snail mail addresses for all of you...
Rower,
DUNO -

Posted project update #14Rewards for all of you!
Post CommentHi everyone. Again, thanks so much for helping me with this. I need you to now email me your shipping address, so that I can get your rewards to you. and for those who decided not to accept any rewards, I'd still like to send you a card, so please, let me have your address! Please send your info to steve@steveduno.com and I (and my elfin minions) will get the rewards together as soon as we can and send them out. I have not received my author copies of LAST DOG yet, so please be patient; you may not get them until after the publication date... sorry. And the Lou calendar is being designed as we speak... patience!
BTW- I may be going on a Canadian national TV show in late July- "The Standard," out of Vancouver, hosted by Peter Klein, a former producer for 60 Minutes. That's good!

Posted project update #13Uncle Tony
Post CommentSo, just a while ago I decided to post some pics on Facebook, of my dad and my Uncle Tony, in honor of their WWII service... after I did so, I checked to see if if anyone else had pledged to my Kickstarter project, which ends tomorrow (successfuly, thanks to all of you). And what do I find? a $100 pledge from Uncle Tony, who I have not been in contact with for a good while...Thanks Uncle T.
There is something about LAST DOG ON THE HILL... something.

Posted project update #12Rewards
Post CommentHey. Just to let you know, I will be getting together the rewards packages as soon as I can, including signed books, bookmarks, calendars, photos, etc. The project does not end until 5/31, and then the funds take an additional 2-3 weeks to process through Kickstarter and Amazon. And I have not yet received my author book copies from the publisher yet. So please be patient. i will also start work on the extra chapter of the book for all of you... I cannot tell you how thankful I am... You have made it possible for me to do a book tour, begin a trailer video, and push PR for the book. Now all I ask is for you all to come to a reading in your area. Keep watching the events tab on my site www.steveduno.com for info on events...

Posted project update #11VICTORY
Didn't think it would happen (because I'm a NY skeptic?) but... VICTORY! 48 of you have given me a chance to take Lou's book, LAST DOG ON THE HILL, and bring to to the public, go on a decent book tour, and increase my promotional footprint. THANK YOU!!

Posted project update #913 days to go
Post CommentHowdy all. We breached the $3K barrier today- thanks to all of you! We have 13 days to go to raise $2K more, or else all pledges become null. Regarding the rewards, I hope to have them for you as soon as I can; I am waiting on my books from the publisher, which should come in a week or two. And regarding the DVD copies of the new book trailer, a reward for those pledging $50 or more- I may need to replace that with a LAST DOG calendar, as without the funds in hand, I have not been able to hire a producer for that. In the future, I will certainly get those out to everyone at or above the $50 mark... again, thanks for your pledges.

Posted project update #8Big Pledge
Post CommentJust got a big pledge from unnamed malcontents in Houston... thanks guys. We are at about three thousand now, with two grand to go in three weeks. Can we do this? Can we circumvent the normal (sic) publishing process and do this ourselves?? If we do not reach five thousand, not a dime gets used....

Posted project update #7Almost halfway
Post CommentHi LAST DOG fans and pledgers; with a month to go, we have nearly reached the halfway point. Daunting; hope we can do it. As you may know, if we do not reach the goal, none of the pledged funds get to be used. I appreciate greatly your help and support; now, if you could get a few others to consider helping out, it would be appreciated! The success of this drive is crucial, as I have already scheduled two NY events, and a scad of readings on the west coast; the ability to fund these depends mightily on the success of this drive, as does the production of a slick book trailer video. If anyone would like to post the link to the Kickstarter page, or embed the "widget" on their website, by all means! Again- thanks; we are trying to do something special, namely bypass the normal restrictions of the orthodox publishing industry, and create an independent, fan-based, fan-generated promotional tool that enables a good book to get noticed. THANKS.

Congratulations Steve! I'll be looking for the book to read of the phenomenon named "Lou"! TC
Bravo, my friend.
Congratulations, Steve! Can't wait to read the book!
