Posted project update #3Thank you...
Post CommentThank you all for supporting this project.
We didn't make the pledge goal, but we did generate a lot of interest.
I think that with a little more time, maybe a month or two more, we would have easily reached the goal.
This has been a great learning experience, and will help in the future with continuing the project.
If you have any feedback please feel free to contact me,

Thanks again for your support! It is much appreciated!
Sincerely,
Seth Nicholas Stephens and The Tree That Owns Itself

Posted project update #1Flagpole Mention
Hey guys,
Thanks for pledging! We still have a ways to go, but we're going to make it happen!
An update...
Athens local magazine/paper, the Flagpole, ran a mention of the project in this weeks edition (Wednesday 09.30.09).
http://flagpole.com/Weekly/CityDope
Michael Lachowski of Pylon also posted about it on his Young, Foxy, and Free blog.
http://youngfoxyfree.blogspot.com/2009/09/contribute-to-propagate-tree-that-owns.html
Plus, he mentioned it in the new print edition of "Young, Foxy, and Free". He just happened to have a picture of The Tree That Owns Itself in the new magazine!!! Grab a copy if you live in Athens, GA!
Thanks and spread the word so we can spread the acorns!!!
love,
The Tree That Owns Itself

Noel, All you have to do is get in contact to discuss growing a tree. The biggest requirement is that the recipient be a land owner and be willing and able to deed the new tree the surrounding 8 feet of land! That's why getting a tree isn't a "reward" for pledging. Some donors might not have land to give the new tree. But stay tuned! Once the website gets built we will keep you updated on progress and locations of all the new trees! thanks, The Tree That Owns Itself email: thetreethatownsitself@gmail.com

The Tree That Owns Itself: Populate the world with its Offspring!!! by Seth Nicholas Stephens
"The Tree That Owns Itself" is a White Oak located in Athens, Georgia. We want to take this tree's sons and daughters and distribute them!
Funding Unsuccessful (10/29/2009)

Yes yes y'all, this idea of Seth's is ridiculously ingenious. It is as interesting as a tool to advance Athens' tourism business and fame as it is an art concept—I appreciate it on many levels. Pledge to get him started!
