Hi Andi, Thanks. I really appreciate your words of encouragement and don't worry, I will definitely try again. I am trying to get into some key museum gift shops and some aquariums and once I do, I think I can get more significant press, which will help. I am working on launching my prints in the next few weeks and after that I will try Kickstarter again with a different video and a lower amount. I'm thinking I would like to go off paper and start printing onto T-shirts and tote bags for a broader market. I was in SF yesterday at the gift show scoping out reps and other mediums to work on so things are looking very creative and exciting. I will keep you posted and do stay in touch. Let me know of any shops you think might be interested in my cards and prints and I will contact them. Thanks again. Beth

Posted project update #43 more days
Thanks to all of you for your support. We are down to the final weekend and there is still a way to go. Please help spread the word.
I had the good fortune to attend a talk last evening on the UCSC campus by Dr. Sylvia Earle, legendary oceanographer and explorer.
Named the first "Hero for the Planet" by Time magazine, Earle spoke on "Oceans, Life, and Survival." She has been a National Geographicexplorer-in-residence since 1998.
I am now heading over to a private reception in her honor at the home of Fred Keeley, former CA State Assemblyman and environmentalist. It is a benefit for the National Marine Sanctuary Exploration Center that is opening in Santa Cruz this summer. SeaweedArt cards are slated to be sold in the gift shop.
Cheers,
Beth

Coming down the home stretch with a lot of ground to cover. Three more days.
Now is the time everyone, make a pledge and pass it on.
Crowd funding takes a lot of people to pledge, like is nice and that helps, but we need the masses to pledge a little.
Thanks for Crowding in with Beth.

Posted project update #2Comin' Down the Home Stretch
Post CommentThank you for your support and generous pledges. As you can see from my numbers, I am still a long way from my goal, so I still need your help. Please send this link http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/seaweedart/seaweedart to your friends, colleagues, family and social network and ask them to join you in this cause. Remember, 10% of the profits from the sale of SeaweedArt are donated to ocean conservation. Thanks again!

Funding Unsuccessful (01/20/2012)

Beth, I am totally serious about supporting your work. Please DO try again on Kickstarter. Your work is really excellent and I want to see you succeed. I hope you do get a rep and can find distribution in places like Seattle, where I live. If I had any sales ability, I'd try to rep your stuff myself. Please stay in touch and next time, I promise to be back in your corner.
Best,
Andi
