Thanks so much for the enthusiasm Nicole, your kind words are much appreciated! Although it would certainly help, we'd need a larger amount to finish the film, so we're currently exploring other avenues like completing various funding applications, and potentially (fingers crossed!) coming back to Kickstarter through Hot Docs!

Posted project update #6Our Latest Wise Person
Post CommentAnd now for a REALLY exciting update!
The latest wise person to join our film, agreeing to be interviewed for Sapience, is someone we've been rooting for since the day we started this film 18 months ago:
Dr. Vandana Shiva. If you're already a fan, then we don't need to say anymore! If you're not familiar with Vandana, it's time to get to know her!
She was named by Forbes as one of the 7 most-influencial women in the world, referred to as the "leading thinker of our time". Vandana is a physicist, world-renowned environmental activist, and recipient of the 1993 Right Livelihood Award. She's authored several successful books, including her latest, Earth Democracy.
She's an astounding wise person, who's voice we're utterly humbled to add to our film. This is such an exciting event for us, and we hope that it excites you too, in continuing to root for Sapience, and root for wisdom.

Posted project update #5Thank You!
As you all undoubtedly know, we didn't reach our project's funding goal of $60,000 by our end date on March 14.
We want you to know that this isn't going to stop us in any way, shape or form. We were so pleased to see how much support and enthusiasm came streaming in for Sapience throughout our Kickstarter campaign. We were also amazed at the $21,432 in pledges we were able to raise, and it showed us that this is a film people really want to see made.
We want to thank you all for the pledges you made, for vouching for us, sharing news and spreading word about Sapience to your networks and friends, and for standing with us.
So what's next for Sapience?
We're approaching several funding agencies, applying where we can to get funding through other means. We'll continue our work on the film in every way we can; nailing our next couple interview subjects, and delving into the editing process with the material we currently have. We've shot 7 interviews so far, which is a lot of amazing content to work with, and we'll continue to share clips and updates with you as we go through this process.
All we ask of you now, to show your continued support, is to stay in touch. We consider you our core audience and support, and would love nothing more than to stay engaged with you, and keep you up to date on our film's journey:
Add us on Twitter.
Like us on Facebook.
Subscribe to us on YouTube.
And sign up for our newsletter.
Thank you again for all of your pledges and support, and know that we're not disappointed in any way. If anything, we're even more motivated to keep pushing, and get this film out there during this important time in our modern society.
Sincerely,
Jon, Peter, Suz and the Sapience Team

Posted project update #4One Final Push!
Post CommentWe're so close to the finish line at 13 hours to go, and we're amazed at the $20,000 worth of pledges we've been able to raise so far. It's incredible to have seen the all around support for making this film happen.
Remember that the pledges will not go through unless we reach our goal, so if we don't make our goal of $60,000 in the next 13 hours, you're pledges won't be applied or debited from your accounts.
Although it's a short amount of time, anything can happen, and we've seen projects kick up in their last few hours and reach their goals when it didn't seem possible.
So please help us out with one last push! Email this project to at least 5 friends, share it on Facebook, tweet it, and do whatever you can do to get word out there about it and encourage more people to pledge! This film is for you, for our generation, and for our moment in time as a society.
Thank you so much!

Posted project update #3John Perkins on Obama
Post CommentThanks so much for all of your pledges so far! We were pleased to see a spike in pledges last week, bringing us to just over $15,000! With 11 days to go, we urge you all to keep sharing Sapience with your friends and networks, and anyone else that might be interested in supporting this very important film, so we can reach our goal on March 14.
As a treat, we've got a behind-the-scenes clip of John Perkins speaking about a timely matter considering the upcoming US elections. How Obama's Yes We Can campaign became Yes He Can.

Funding Unsuccessful (01/29/2012)

Would it be possible for you to do another kickstarter with a goal of $20000 so you can reach it? I'm sure many of the people who originally contributed would be happy to do so again, myself included.
