    The album is almost finished!

Hey guys!! Just wanted to say hello and give you an update on all that has been happening with the album. We're almost to the mixing stage! It's almost a month to the day since we started the album and we've had a great time. We finished up the main tracks and overdubs at Cedar Creek Studios. It is a beautiful studio in the middle of Austin but on land that creates the illusion that you're out in the country. Many of my favorite bands have recorded there: Uncle Tupelo, The Dixie Chicks, Ben Kweller, and many more. I loved it so much!! Now we're out at our producer's studio finishing up overdubs. Going in today! I love creating a great album. Just a few more days of work and then we'll enter the mixing stage!! Just want to say thanks again for the wonderful support! There's NO WAY this could have happened without you guys. It's been an interesting few months but your support has made all the difference. Thank you so much!!

    XOXO

    Merry Christmas, Santa Baby

Merry Christmas! We are with family today and found Pop's 30 year old ukelele (with the strings never changed..Ruby Jane cringed..lol). Last year this time, she sat on his front porch and sang a song he wrote. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKzGRIIBPOI

Today, on Christmas, she grabbed Pop's ukelele and sat by the tree. Here's Santa Baby, just for fun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j85QQSMTgeQ

It makes me think, hey, she might need to throw in a uke on the new record! What do you think? We should probably change the strings though. lol.

    Love yall.

    amazing view

From here, it's an amazing view. One carjacker, thousands of folks who care. This is the world we are a part of, this is the world I am seeing. This is the caring, hopeful world I want others to see through me. And through the varied emotions and layers of processing after the gunpointed carjacking, we are still focused on the Kickstarter project, maybe more than before. With your help, we are getting there. Ruby Jane is still out of some key instruments and equipment to record but we know it will come together in time. And even in the last 2 weeks, she has still been rehearsing the new songs and arrangements with the band for recording with sharp focus. I am proud of that girl. Unstoppable. In the photo below, you'll see a special night. The band WhoDo turned a gig into a last minute benefit and Austin turned out in support. The love in that room was warmer than a campfire! Ruby Jane performed on a backup fiddle until we find hers out there. Whatever fiddle is in her hands, beautiful music is made, a loving stage is set. The view from my seat, still amazing.

Amazing! And completely expected for me; ya'll are the real deal, and I am just glad to be in your world, even if on the fringes. Keep on keepin' on, and we will always be there for ya'll, for the love that ya'll give always comes back in spades.

    So grateful

Hey guys just want to take a minute to say how utterly grateful I am for the love and support of family, friends, and fans at this time. As you probably know, my mom and I were carjacked at gunpoint on Thursday in Houston after a solo show. We lost all my equipment, instruments, phones, wallets, suitcase, everything. Since then we've been back in Austin trying to recover stolen gear, etc. I just want to say it has been unbelievable how amazingly thoughtful and helpful everyone has been. You guys are the sweetest ever. People have been giving me gear to use, helping us have a place to stay (our keys were stolen with the car and we're trying to get the locks changed), and donating so sweetly to kickstarter. We appreciate it so much. We're 3/4 of the way there!! WOO HOO!!! And it's all because of you guys. So thank you. So much. I know we can make this deadline and any extra donations will go to helping recover stolen equipment, instruments, etc. Thank you guys so much. Ya'll are the best. I love ya'll from the bottom of my heart. I'm so grateful to have people like you in my life.

    Much love always,

    RJ

I was so bummed when I heard the news, but thank God ya'll are alright. If you or your mom need anything in particular, let me know, and I will form a posse amongst friends and we will get it done. Love ya'll. Craig 300-6629 (Sherri, Inez, Alice, etc.)
